Grumpy feedback about "common words" in the search function

I think that I've carped about this before, but it's time for a re-carp: I really dislike the bit in the search function about terms being common words and therefore disregarded. I'm trying to do a search on US Bank, and I get this gem:

"'us' is a very common word and was not included in your search."

Do you have any idea how many hits you get off the word "bank" alone? That number would be 11,048.

Here's another one: try a search for "hard inq." "Hard" is considered a common word, and therefore ignored. ("Soft" is not --what's up with that?)

To me, if someone puts a term in the search box, and especially if that term is surrounded with quotation marks, it should be considered in the search. Hmmmph.

Well, that's not a common word!  Did you put that word in your post just so you'd be able to find it again later? Smiley Very Happy

It seems like it sorts similar to Google's standard search function.

To bad ours doesn't have something similar to Google's advanced search feature. That's about the only one I ever use, when specifically trying to look up something.

I agree!

Very often I want to find an exact phrase, and it's difficult to find without being able to specify the exact phrase in quotes.
