I've been prompted for 2FA on both mobile / Safari and desktop / FIrefox - haven't been able to determine why / when it will happen though, seems random to me.   Smiley Frustrated

Is it possible for a user to turn off 2FA on Myfico?

No, this isn't an optional setting or anything that individual users can activate or deactivate.

Re: Multi-factor Authentication won't stop!

It seems that the 2FA here only "remembers" the last device you log in from.  After logging in from device A, you'll have to 2FA again next time you log in from device B, and vice versa.

I never used to have to 2FA when I only used my laptop with Firefox.  The 2FA hassles started when I started logging in from my iPad as well (using Brave browser).  As long as I only log in from the one device, I don't have to 2FA after doing it once.  But if I log in again from the other device, the whole nonsense starts over again.

This is a bug which should be fixed IMHO.  2FA adds security but only while adding inconvenience for users.  Bugs that add more inconvenience are bad.  Especially on a site which doesn't persist logins to begin with.

Also, for 99% of sites, 2FA should be optional.  Not everyone wants or needs that level of security, on a forum especially.  I know they use a SSO system with a single login for both the MyFICO services and the forum, but there are ways to apply the higher security to one (the services) while letting the forum login persist and not require 2FA.  It just requires a few code changes.
