Posting a url link vs. posting a website address

How do you post a url link(where you just click on it, and it takes you to a website)?

When I've tried doing that, but I just post the website addy, and have to copy/paste it into a new browser window. Smiley Sad

If the answer is already here elsewhere in this forum, I couldnt find it. Apologies to all if it is.

Re: Posting a url link vs. posting a website address

it's Firefox. Same ol', same ol'. The other evening I posted from ... ummm... not my home computer, and went through IE instead of Firefox. You wouldn't believe the spiffy things they have. Stupid IE. Try logging in through IE instead.

Re: Posting a url link vs. posting a website address

The way to post an URL in the general text editor is by typing out:

<a href=THE_WEBSITE_ADDRESS>Text you want to show up for the link</a>

I just made a post on this thread that explains a bit about why IE users have a few more abilities than FireFox users.  Those of us who use FireFox (myself included) will get the same benefits IE users do eventually, I believe.

The first one works, the second one doesn't -- unless you're trying to link to some random blank fico page.  Let me know if you need more help, k?

Re: Posting a url link vs. posting a website address

Here you go. Wherever you see a gap/ space, ignore it, except for at the beginning before the href. The bogus gaps are after the < at the very beginning, and at the end, right after the < and before the a/>. Make this one long huge string of text with no interruptions. Note where the quotation marks are.

< a href="your target url here">your target url here< /a>

-Edited to correct reversed / a --thanks, Tons_of_Debt!

Please note, there IS a space between the initial a and href.
