Posting extra space between lines

Hi, just wondering if youve seen this before.  I copy and paste from a word document, The body of the message is just fine, but then when at the bottom when I list what my CR's show it puts more space between the lines than the message. You can view example on my post on the general credit questions forum. I even tried to just straight type it in and it did the same thing... just wondering if I have a setting set somewhere that is affecting this. Thanks for your time! -Attagirl

Re: Posting extra space between lines

This is as good a spot as any!

Happens to me sometimes when I reply and quote the previous post. This also reminds me of when I forward an e-mail, and the formatting gets all wacko, and I can't ditch the double-spacing to save my neck.

I'm hoping that Raine will ride to our rescue, but in the meantime, all I can suggest, if you're in Internet Explorer, is to click the "Edit as html" button and see if you can dump some <p >'s and <div ></div >'s. But if you've never tried this before, make sure first that you have plenty of time and patience. And perhaps cold beverages. Smiley Tongue

AttaGirl, I've got a quick question for you. Do you use Internet Explorer, or another internet browser? That should help me figure out the issue a bit better. Smiley Happy

Re: Posting extra space between lines

Hi Raine,
Yes, I currently use IE 6. I want to say I believe this also happened on another pc that I posted from which had IE 7, but I know for sure it happened on IE 6. I also copy from MS Word. Hope that helps!!

Re: Posting extra space between lines

Thanks Attagirl!

I think the problem may have something to do with the graphical editor. If you don't need specific formatting, like bold, underline, image posting, etc., I suggest attempting to use the HTML editor, as this should get rid of the extra spacing problems. You can use the HTML editor by clicking "Edit as HTML", just below the text box on the right-hand side, before you put any text in the box. If you want to edit an existing post, just remove the content that is already in there and post in the new word document.

I know it's not ideal, but it's a little work-around for the time being. Let me know if that doesn't work!

If any of this is too much of a hassle, please feel free to send me a link to the post and I can try to edit the formatting. Smiley Happy

Re: Posting extra space between lines

One way around this is to use notepad-
it will strip the rich text out of the message-

Either use notepad or paste into notepad and the copy/past into myFICO
