If a thread is moved from another board it will automatically go to the top of the new board (even if it's old), which might be what you're seeing.
Also, if an older thread didn't get any replies (or got replies but a question wasn't really addressed/answered) sometimes we bump them back to the top for a 'second chance'. This would also look like an old thread 'mysteriously' moving to the top.

Those three threads were moved to 'Understanding FICO Scoring', so there's no mystery (at least with those).
