Why are the forums so slooooooow for the last few days?

I am the only one finding that it takes forever to open a thread, reply, post, change boards, etc? There are always times during the day that this will happen, but it's been terrible since the beginning of the weekend.

It's 6:35 on Monday morning where I am, and I can't believe that there are that many people on, clogging things up. I did a shut-down/ restart, I reset my modem and router, I have five bars on my wireless connection indicator, and it still takes several minutes for everything that involves hitting enter.

Is my laptop just sick of the forums, and finally rebelling? Can we get another hamster or two on the FICO exercise wheel? Thanks!

Hauling - I haven't been having any problems and I use both IE and Firefox, both at work and at home.

It may be something PC specific.

HTSU, I haven't had any problems either.

But I DO notice that, if I don't physically turn off the computer, let it cool down for 5 minutes and reboot, it does get soooooooo sloooowwwwwwwww. I do this every week without fail.

Have you rebooted recently, or is it just a forum thing?.

I too use Firefox almost exclusively. It's normally much faster than IE. Especially since I use the add-on FasterFox to the web browser.

No problems here hauling. 

DL CCleaner free and get your puter cleaned up.  Run your spy/malware and virus programs, then do another disc cleanup with your system tools and clear out old backup files.

Scandisc if your laptop has that option (program is outdated don't worry if it does not, that just means Windows does it automatically for you) lastly see if you need a defrag.

No problems here hauling. Better get yourself a new Sony Vaio with Business Vista. This is what I use and I fly right through the forums w/o delay.

Whew! Thanks everyone! I do turn it off at night, and I run the virus/ spy-ware/ whatever else daily, but I know that the crud does build up. Other sites don't seem as slow, which is what had me puzzled.

I guess I will let DS come over and make condescending noises at me!

PS --it's probably DD#2's Facebook! Her wireless doesn't want to work with the home network, so she's always on mine when she comes over.

OK, probably a coincidence, but since the fora shut down this morning and again this afternoon for "maintenance" by Lithium, my computer has been flying.
