Why do you hate Firefox so? smileysadtonguestickingout crossedeyeshairspringingoutallover

OK, so now I find that in Firefox I can use the greater than symbol ( > ), but not the less than (think the reverse.) The other night I was working late and somehow *ahem* blundered on to the FICO forums and saw the options available to IE users. C'mon, now, give us Firefox'ers a break!

Hey Hauling!

I know this isn't much of a consolation right now, but the reason for you not being able to use the < sign is purely because it starts HTML code. IE users have the ability to use a graphical editor, which allows them the ability to use that symbol. Lithium is working on getting the graphical editor to FireFox users, so at some point you will have the ability to just type it out.

Until that time comes, the best way to post that symbol is by typing "<" without the quotes. This is how you can create that symbol without the system thinking you're attempting to start an HTML tag.

Thanks, Raine. I figured it was something having to do with html. It's really entertaining when you quote in Firefox and try to clean up some of the hr's and br's and blockquotes and all!

Any guesstimate as to when Lithium will have this?

Unfortunately, I don't really have any sort of estimate. I just know it only makes sense to try to update that, since FireFox is a very commonly used browser.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean about cleaning up hrs and brs. ;D

Yes, those break lines and indents leap around like demented jackalopes. Good thing there's the Preview Post link! No telling what kinds of messes I would be posting.

Here you go: paste this link into your browser window. It should take you to the exact post. Like it says, when you do it for real, don't leave a space between the two characters, including on smileymad :
