I dont know what the issues are but CK sends alerts very quickly. I dont use them for my score but just to watch my reports every week. Like I said earlier, it was'nt a half hour before I got the alert from CK about the hard pull. If something negative happens MyFico usually alerts fairly quickly. But when something possitive is reported..not so quickly. Especially over the last month or two.

Two different mechanisms.  Well 1 and a half different I guess.

As near as I can tell the TU monitoring for both myFICO and CK are done by Transunion's monitoring of their database.  CK though has a fallback, namely getting a new report every week (or when you next login after that week) which compares the differences from the prior report.

Unfortunately it's not a common implementation between the 3 bureaus (as it's each's own algorithm which MF resells as a packaged deal, and all 3 I think now offer it singly through themselves now that EX is on the personal credit monitoring bandwagon).

My own experience is that Equifax's portion (Scorewatch) is the most sophisticated, but it's also the most mature of the 3 currently... it has also been pretty darned static in the last couple of years too in terms of what the service offering is.  Eventually I would assume if development continues inside EX and TU that they'd reach parity with EQ at some point in the future.

I have to think the EX/TU and probably EQ solutions all grew out of the monitoring they were selling lenders on their customers, and what the lenders are looking for is a subset of what consumers would care about... i.e. we care about a $5 balance going to $0, lenders, not so much.

Re: Big lag in MyFico alerts

Let me add to my previous post.  This seems to apply ONLY if you have the 3-Score watch and also the quarterly monitoring.  I finally cancelled my quarterly monitoring and the score is updating now.

Starting Scores: Low 500's 2/27/08
Current Scores:Transunion: 700 02/13/15 Experian: 713 02/17/15 Equifax: 736 02/18/15
Goal Score: 770 Across the board!!

Re: Big lag in MyFico alerts

Seriously I don't understand. My CK always updates before myfico and I pay for myfico. Just today, my EQ reported a new account on CK and changed my CK score. Myfico has not notified me yet. It's not the first time. CK always updates first. Sometimes days to a week ahead
