Re: Good deals on watch services?

Ok here's a dumb question. When you pay monthly, are you are paying a month ahead? If so, when cancelling  one day before or at the 90 days, do you get reinbursed for the month you are not going to use?

Were you asking about MyFico products or another service? Couldn't tell because of thread divergence.

Re: Good deals on watch services?

Yes, you are paying for the month ahead. They bill you the first months, and your service starts from today.

Google is your friend. Search for myfico discount codes. Some are 10%, others 15%, and still others are 20%.

Re: Good deals on watch services?

The service is not working--Do not trust Scorewatch--use truecredit--pull your score daily from true credit, see if there are any changes, if there are changes to your EQ report and you don't get an alert from Scorewatch, then Scorewatch is not doing its job.

Scorewatch has failed to report major changes to my credit report for the entire month of July. The only time I have received alerts since the end of June have been when I called up and complained, and then they would mysteriously appear

Attn MYFICO employees: GET ON THE BALL WITH FIXING SCOREWARCH--fix whatever it is in your system that is screwing up the service. It is clearly becoming an issue for many people.

Your Equifax FICO score: XXX

On July 25, 2007

Score Watch does not check your FICO score every day, so there may be a delay between a change in your FICO score and the time you receive an alert from Score Watch.

---------------------------------------------

This is what I saw today when I pulled a Score Power report. So it is official now that they admit Score Watch is not a timely service and you don't know when they may or may not get around to check what is your current score

You're correct. This is a relatively new disclaimer on this product. To be fair you really shouldn't see any score changes unless there is a meaningful difference in your report after your tradelines report. That's only done monthly so unless you are adding new accounts there won't be a change at all between the regular monthly reportings.

Re: Cancelling Membership-This is not a good service

I to had alerts within the 30 day trial but I haven't gotten any notifications since the 30 day trial. I have to admit to my lack of responsiblity and due to that my scores were very embarrassing Smiley Sad, and when I pulled my score on 6/25/07 it was a score of 471. I've since taken the bull by the horns and have set goals and have gotten an addiction to this quest of a VERY GOOD score. However, I've been been very "frugal" and have gotten a goal and have been agressively pursuing to raise my score, which I have to: 527 (as of today 545 Equifax) and 594 Transunion.

However, ever since I paid the annual fee of $89 for MFSW, I haven't gotten anything.  When I was reading this, I put it to the test today. So, I lowered my settings to 530 a week ago, and since I read this forum today wanted to test it out.  I had one Free Score Power left...when I did it-it read 545Smiley Very Happy However, it was bitter sweet feeling because I'm experiencing what most have experienced.   My question.  If the settings performed properly, why didn't I get an ALERT (as promised) - since my score was 527, now its 545.

This is why I did this service on myfico.  I'm thinking that $89.00 could have gone towards pulling my report every 3 months. The more I take responsibility of my score, the more I get frugal and it seems it wasn't money well spent.  If I had to do it over, I would have done the 30 day trial, but not invested the yearly sum. I've learn ALOT from diving in and ALOT from this forum.  I WILL cancel my membership once its over.  One good thing came out of it was meeting great people and getting great information which was worth the $89.00Smiley Happy

Re: Cancelling Membership-This is not a good service

I guess SW checks your report at random every 7 to 10 days. I wish SW would send an e-mail saying "no change" when it checked your score. That way we would know that it is working, and nothing happened. And it would put your mind at ease that the scores WERE checked but nothing changed. When you go over a month without a change you start to question if it is really working.
My wife hasn't had an update since 7/02. It is very frustrating because I know we paid off a couple of small cards, we had a slight balance increase on one credit line, And we made payments on 15 open accounts. Our WAMU accounts are showing a score increase. I haven't seen anything yet with myfico. I think most of our accounts report on the 1st of every month. I think 7 to 10 days is a reasonable timeframe for this service to update. When you see changes occur on other sources and you are going 25 days without a myfico score alert. It is frustrating.

Re: Cancelling Membership-This is not a good service

Wow... am I ever glad I read this thread.

I tried to sign up for the 30-day free trial three or four days ago.  I am probably like everyone else, and would have liked the system set up and committed to the 90 dollars charge.  However, there was a glitch in the billing address (I've just moved and my address changed) and it told me I had to wait not one hour, not one day, but 72 HOURS to try again.

I contacted Support and asked them to reset my account.  They said they did, but the exact same thing happened.  I told them what happened and they told me to wait 72 hours.  This is stupid.  72 hours to wait to try again, with no guaranty that it will work?  I asked them if they had any other payment options... they said "no", except for the silly "bill me later" option where they put a hit on your credit... no thanks.  I wouldn't do this even if it was free.

So I took the opportunity to read around on the forums to see if anyone else had been having the same problem.  Apparently the service isn't all it's cracked up to be, and this is for people who were actually able to USE the service.

MyFICO took a customer that was TRYING TO PAY THEM and turned them away.  Congrats.

Re: Cancelling Membership-This is not a good service

I am canceling my membership too.  I signed up for score watch and went to cancel a few days later because almost no info on any of my accounts.  Like loan type, largest reported balance, and no info at all pretty much on my 6 yr. old court case.  True credit lists all the info that I listed.  I guess it was my fault for hitting the monthly one instead of the yearly but I went to cancel and they said three month minimum.  What's the difference between monthly and yearly as far as canceling goes.  Just a way to make more cash if you go over the 30 days so they can hit you with the yearly price.  As fas as i am concerned this is a scam.  I thought I would get the same info as true credit but also see my fico score.  Not true.  I highly do not recommend myfico.com.

Thanks,

Chris
