Confusion about Score Watch Alerts

Hi chally and welcome.

I've split your post off to start a new thread. That way it won't get tangled up with any discussions on the other thread. All I've changed is the title.

MarineVietVet, myFICO moderator

Hello, I have a question if I may. Yesterday's Score Watch reported no changes, this morning's Quarterly Monitoring - no changes, but tonight Score Watch detected a change/drop in my Fico Score.

I logged onto myFICO SW - Alerts. I see the alert of a drop, but below that "Your score hasn't changed since Jan 31, 2012. So, I'm confused ... I don't see any decernable change nor reason for said change. It's my understanding that these alerts let you see the actual new score and a clue or reason as to why it changed - that was the reason I purchased SW! So, can anyone kindly shed llight as to whats the dealeo? Many thanks to all.

Re: Confusion about Score Watch Alerts

I got a few alerts just like that when I first joined SW, If it says your score has dropped below your target score and underneath that, it says your score is (XXX) and has not changed since (date) don't worry about it.

Do you have your target score set to your exact current EQ SW FICO score? If not, I'd recommend setting your target score to your current EQ FICO, once I did that, I never received an alert that my score dropped when it really did not.

Best of Luck.

Re: Confusion about Score Watch Alerts

MarineVietVet, thanks for starting a new thread, I appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply and your own experience with this, Mustanglvr2006.  Yes, my target is set exactly to my current EQ SW FICO score. It was the first thing I did upon purchasing SW a few weeks back. Hopefully as you said, things will iron out once the account isn't so new.

Re: Confusion about Score Watch Alerts

I forgot to Welcome you to the Forums in my first reply, sorry about that, so I will now....

Hi Chally, Welcome to the ForumsSmiley Happy

That's good to hear you have you target score set to your current EQ FICO, be sure to keep changing it every time your score changes to the current score you see.

Hopefully SW will not send you alerts like that anymore.

I also use EQ CMS "ID Patrol" I was sent an alert yesterday from EQ about noon regarding an account I closed, and about two hours later I received the same alert from SW, EQ is always first to send the alert, but SW is always just a few hours behind, which is to be expected.

I hope SW works out perfectly for you as it has for me for the last 10 monthsSmiley Happy

Have a Great day.

Re: Confusion about Score Watch Alerts

I am having this same issue.  Chally, did this ever happen to you again or did it in fact clear up?  I have been and off and on SW subscriber quite a few times and this has never happened to me in the previous times I have started the service.  I received no alerts for a few weeks and now I have the same situation the OP described.  I'm concerned that my score has in fact changed and now I won't get an alert if the score changes again since my alerts are set to this oringial score.  When I do get an actual alert, will SW show me my new score?  I haven't subscribed to SW in quite a while.  I'm pretty sure it used to show you a new score, but thought I'd verify this.  Thanks!

Hi Erica1,

While subscribed to SW, yes, any alert will contain your current score.

Hi boonelb,

I know there seems to be a connection between ordering a Score Power and then getting an alert, but from what I've been able to gather over the past 5+ years of SW, any connection is purely coincidental.  I take it you've set your target to your latest score, so that you'll be alerted to the next score change?

Re: Confusion about Score Watch Alerts

yes I keep it at my target score.  I think I received a total of one score had not changed alert.  The other times I got an alert was after I ordered the score power.
