Contradiction in Reporting - only on myFICO

After many rounds of conversation with customer service, I have effectively decided that the information here is no longer accurate enough to be worth paying for. I have an account that I certainly take full responsibility for the payment history on. The account is a former cell phone account with Verizon Wireless, and under the "description" on the Equifax report purchased through myFICO, it states "Paid Collection." However, under Current Status, it states "At least 120 days or more than four payments past due."

I cannot get an explanation for how it can currently be past due and also paid, with a $0 balance. The explanation I received on the telephone, from more than one representative, was that that comment would not change because I was oncepast due to that extent - however, it is still inaccurate information, as that is not the current status as advertised.

Note that the report purchased directly from Equifax does not read this way - it appears to be an issue just with myFICO, and as such, it is difficult for me to conclude that the products available for purchase here are generally accurate. As such, I will spend no more money here and recommend that others take that course as well.

Re: Contradiction in Reporting - only on myFICO

I think what the representative was trying to say is that the account is either positive or contains derogatory information.   If there are no derogatory marks, the current status of the account is that it is a positive account.  If there is a major derogatory mark, the account status changes to derogatory.

That still doesn't make any sense. I understand that the account contains derogatory information. However, the CURRENT status is a "paid collection." On the TU and EX reports purchased from here, it doesn't report as being 120 days/4 payments past due in the "Current Status" column. Only on Equifax. EX lists it as "Paid account/was a collection account, insurance claim or government claim or was terminated for default" and TU lists it as "Payment after charge off/collection" both of which are much more accurate than being currently past due. Thanks for trying to explain, though.

It is the same data, just myFICO phrased it differently in its report layout.  If you like the way the report obtained directly from Equifax looks, then I wouldn't worry about it.  The reports purchased directly from the CRAs always contain more information and are the best reports to look at when closely examining in detail.

I guess I just don't understand what would be so difficult about phrasing it differently. Or correctly. I understand that the data is the same, but it seems like they should have an obligation to be consistent and accurate.

OP I understand what your going thru. I'm having the same issue with Fico report. On a collection FICO is reporting 3 90 day lates Jan/Feb/Mar 2014 on a collection account I have. TU/EX Fico report doesn't show it that way. However, my annual credit report/Equifax and EQ website just lists it as a collection with no payment history. Fico customer service keep saying its Equifax that's reporting it that way.
