Credit Sesame inquiry alerts, none from myFico?

Hello All,

I got an offer from CapOne for a CC. I went and applied online, and within 30 seconds of hitting the submit application button on the Cap One website, my Gmail account recieved an alert from Credit Sesame (and not from myFico as I had expected) stating that there has been a new inquiry added to my credit report.

As of right now, there has been no alert or notification from myFico.

Why is that?

I mean $25 a month is not a massive amount of money, but good god - why can't I get a freakin' alert or update from this service once a while?

Paid subscribers don't care about technicalities of what may or may not "trigger" myFico alerts - they just want to see it WORK, especially after subscribers like myself see and "get a taste of" a free monitoring service delivering alerts before the myFico premium service....Other services have shown that timely alerts can be done.

I love this community, and they have helped me immensely, but as far as the premium service is concerned - for $25 a month, the information just isn't delievred in a timely manner in my opinion, which is frustrating.

Ranting is over, thanks.

Re: Credit Sesame inquiry alerts, none from myFico?

Here's another update:

At 12:14, I got an alert from Credit Karma stating that Cap One added a hard inquiry to my credit report.

As of 12:15, there is no alert from myFico.

Here's the realtime score so far:

Credit Sesame - 1 new inquiry notification about my new Cap One CC

Credit Karma - 1 new inquiry notification about my new Cap Once CC

myFico - 0 notifications about my new Cap One CC

Thank you!

Re: Credit Sesame inquiry alerts, none from myFico?

All of these posts about the failed alerting from myFICO services have me concerned. I first tried the free trial (or $1 trial or whatever it is) for Experian Credit Tracker - which only displays a FICO score for Experian. They advertise that they want $40/mo for an account that monitors all 3 scores... so I came to myFICO and signed up for 3-Bureau Credit Monitoring instead. I then cancelled the Experian CT account.

One other big reason that I cancelled Experian CT is because when myFICO pulled my initial scores and credit report data, it showed a major recent change in my Experian CR data (i.e., a zero balance for a credit card that I paid off the other day)... Whereas Experian CT kept showing the old score and debt amount. I thought to myself, "this myFICO service is much better!" Well, it would have been better if I were able to expect the same kind of thing from myFICO's alert system. So far, neither TU nor EQ have updated. I called the issuing bank for my card and spoke with their credit bureau specialist. She told me that it's the bank's policy to send paid off balance events to the 3 credit bureaus immediately. She then checked my FICO scores. She said that both Experian AND Equifax were reflecting my zero balance status for the card. TU was not, but showed a more currently updated balance than Experian Credit Tracker did.

MyFICO customer support says I should allow 10 days for the alerting function to engage on my account. One of the sticky threads within this forum category says it should only take 72 hours. Several of the posts I've read here indicate that their respective FICO scores from myFICO services have seemingly been frozen for weeks or even months. I'm not sure what to think at this point. I simply want to know that all 3 of my FICO scores have been updated to reflect my new zero balance, and that my credit report data shows the zero balance as well. And I want to know this without paying a bunch of money to various monitoring services. I don't want to submit a credit application if one of the queried credit bureaus shows my former debt!

Nothing ever seems easy Smiley Frustrated

Re: Credit Sesame inquiry alerts, none from myFico?

Update:

Well, I finally got some alerts this morning with respect to my newly opened CapOne card, which is nice.

So based on this recent episode of sorts, myFico appears to be 1-2 days behind the 3 "free" sites I use: Sesame, Credit.com, and Karma.

Anyhow, back to the grind, happy Friday!

MyFICO finally gave me an alert today as well. It reported the zero balance update from EQ that occurred on June 9. And that's consistent with the 72 hours that's claimed for alerting to kick in. I'm just waiting for TU to get their act together now.

Re: Credit Sesame inquiry alerts, none from myFico?

Don't feel bad, myFico is always behind on everything with everyone. CK updates weekly and beats myFico 99% of the time on catching things. myFico still has not updated any information for my new credit cards, CK told me on 6/13, here it is 6/20 and no update from myfico. So actually CK updated twice, every Saturday mine updates.

The only thing myFico is good for is the FICO part, which is well still behind what a lender would see.

I cancelled my subscription because of this. I mean the subscription is for

Alerts

and 1 Free report per year or you can buy additional reports at a discounted price.

Honestly Credit Karma and Credit Sesame report to me quicker and I'd rather pay the $59 for the report when I need it than $24 per month for late alerts that free services get to me quicker.

Yes they do get you the alerts but if I am paying that much for a service then I expect the alerts to be quicker than free services rather than vice versa

Exactly, every other site is faster, the only downside...and the only reason this site can do or get away with slow alrerts, is because this is the only place to get FICOS. But if you have credit, and have good cards then some cards give you a FICO, but for rebuilders, this is the only place to get it. All the other sites are FAKOS.

Re: Credit Sesame inquiry alerts, none from myFico?

CreditCheckTotal.com (CCT), operated by Experian, provides 3 bureau reports and real FICO 8 scores. Can pull full reports with FICO 8 scores 3X times per month; ~36 times per year; no triggers to wait for. Many here subscribe there now. Costs several bucks more per month, but is well worth the money for many.

As for monitoring, as already pointed out, Credit Sesame is super fast with HP alerts often within seconds.

Not sure why myFICO seemingly isn't innovating, but maybe they're seeking to get away from selling direct to consumers, and instead focusing more on licensing FICO to other companies, which provide FICOs to consumers, including CCT, credit card issuers, etc.

Re: Credit Sesame inquiry alerts, none from myFico?

Just checking back in again.

As of July 7, 2015, I have not recieved an update since June 12th from any of the bureaus on myFico, and here's what has happened with my credit since Late May:

1. My Wells Fargo CC went from a balance of $247 to $25 in early May - but as of 7-7, myFico still reports a balance of $247

2. I setup a new Cap One CC in late May, activated it on 6/11, and as of 7-7, there is only a mention of the inital hard inquiry done in late May for the card - there is no mention of the card being activated or used, and I have yet to get an increase (or decrease) in my Fico score from the new card..

By contrast to the Cap One CC, the Wells Fargo card I setup in April had frequent updates within the first 2 weeks of activation and use on myFico, but as you can see in item 1, the timely reporting on that card's activity has seemingly stopped here at myFico back in May.

In closing - while I may be "jumping the gun" with respect to the reporting of my new Cap One CC, I must say I am very surprised and disapointed that myFico has not shown any change on my Wells Fargo CC for 2 months. As others in these forums have stated, all was well in the Spring of this year with respect to frequency of updates, etc. - and since May, the updates have almost come to a stand still - which is ironic given the fact that my credit "life" has not been this active/busy in over 10 years - that is what makes this so frustrating.

I'm curious - does myFico pay a fee to the Credit Reporting agencies for the data they supply to it's paid users? if so, is it possible the fees for this data have increased?
