I've been having two issues lately I can't seem to get resolved or even answered as to why they're happening. I did some searching around the forums and haven't been able to really find answers.
Problem 1:
My EQ FICO 8 score remains stagnant no matter what updates I recieve in terms of alerts. I am not talking about any of the scores that update with reports, it's my FICO 8 on the dashboard. For example, it was 52/53 points behind TU/EX. All alerts matched- nothing was missing from the EQ alerts except score changes. This was over a three week span.
The rep at MyFICO told me it was EQs problem- that they were sending alerts for balance changes but not for overall utiliation. I called EQ repeatedly at multiple numbers with nothing but canned answers, disconnections, and the run-around. One guy insisted I had to buy their monitoring service if I wanted my score. He couldn't tell me what score version they were reporting and eventually hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor.
I returned to the forums and found that someone said they had to purchase a report to instigate an update in score. I reluctantly paid $20 more for the 1B report and it did indeed update my dashboard EQ score. Not happy that the product doesn't seem to be working as it's supposed to but I'm working up to a mortgage in a couple weeks and need to know where things stand.
More time passed and I notice EQ lagging again. I realize my scores will be different but I am not trusting that a 20ish point lag now is accurate either. I called MyFICO again and the lady told me repeatedly that my scores would only update when a report is run. I told her I was only referring to the FICO 8 dashboard score and that I didn't expect to see any changes in my mortage scores or others. She kept insisting that a report was the trigger for a score change. I told her that was incorrect and asked her to explain why then my TU and EX scores showed changes. Eventually I gave up.
Does anyone know why this happens? Anything I can do barring talking to anyone at EQ again? I feel like I should have not had to have spent $20 on a new report and that becuase my score changed when I did, MyFICO had the info needed to show updates all along. Am I wrong?
Problem #2: I got an alert saying my TU score went up 5 points. The dashboard score reflected no score change. This was over the weekend so after checking each day, it then said (-5) but the score was still unchanged. After a couple more days, my dashboard score remains the same, with no change indicator numbers next to it. The alert is still there saying I should have gained 5 points.
I saw similar issues with others on the forums and most said it resolved itself after a day or two. When I talked to that last rep at MyFICO she told me it was because I renewed by subscription at the same time as the update. It seemed weird and I was not comprehending why that should be a problem but again, I was going in circles with her and realized ending the call was for the best.
Any ideas about what is going on with that? Is there anything to resolve or do I really NOT get 5 more points?
Regarding Problem #2, I looked at my dashboard again tonight and the (-5) box is there again next to my score. Score has not changed and no alert. I would love to know why this is happening and what my "real" score is.
Update again on Problem # 2. I got a reply and a new report from MyFICO. I did indeed gain 5 points. Yay!
