Equifax Reporting Error?

I disputed a student loan with ACS which had a 120 day past due delinquency. Basically, I didn't know I had a loan with them because Sallie Mae was the only lender that has ever sent me information about my student loans. ACS had changed my address to somewhere in Utah that they got from the National Address Change service. I live in California and I have never been to Utah. So I receive my dispute results from Equifax and the delinquencies have been removed. The account on my new report says never late. I get a ScoreWatch update and my score was raised only 6 points. I decided to get a new score report and the report still has the 120 days past due. Did Equifax not really remove the information or is this an error with ScoreWatch?

Re: Equifax Reporting Error?

make sure I go this straight-

The removed the lates- but did not update the account status?

If that's the case- give EQ call and they should do a manual update.

Re: Equifax Reporting Error?

In the new credit report that Equifax sent me, the results of the investigation state, "The prior paying history has been deleted from this account." Under the account, it now says pays as agreed. But when I got the new Score Report, the account still has the 120 days past due. Do you think I should call Equifax or is there a major delay in information from ScoreWatch?

I would re-check the results online-

Re: Equifax Reporting Error?

I rechecked the results online just before posting here. The negative history is gone and it says pays as agreed. Should I buy a new credit report from Equifax? I really don't want to waste my money if ScoreWatch is the problem?
