When purchasing the 3 bureau report and score package, does the FICO Score 5 only update at purchase? I've had several changes to my FICO 8 score, but no movement on any of the other scores. Is this normal, or does MyFico only give you a one time score for these?
I'm thinking this monitoring package was a mistake after my last few alerts. I improved 3 accounts, and after equifax raised my score 9 points YESTERDAY, it dropped my equifax score another 6 today. For the same account!!! Knowing every little movement might drive me crazy. Especially when there's no way to make sense of it.
Keep in mind, the reason given for the alert isn't always the reason for the score change.
I'll give an example from my experience. A few days ago, I received an alert saying the balance on one of my accounts had increased on Experian but my score went up with this alert. I knew that what actually had probably happened was that the score change was from another account that I had paid to 0; however, the balance change was less than 5% of that account, so having read the FAQ I know that this doesn't trigger an Experian alert.
This is just one example, there are many ways in which your score will change and not trigger an alert which can cause some confusion later when a negative alert appears to cause your score to rise or a positive alert appears to cause your score to drop.
