Fico Score and Report Products

What is the best product I see alot of negative feedback on the scorewatch etc (the same product offered thru Equifax for 12.95 on here 14.95???---is it just best to buy the score when wanted versus paying for any of these monthly services?? Has anyone signed up felt that there is one that is just the best and worth the money--let me know thanks contemplating what to do versus randomly buying them for $40.00 every now and then....

Thanks in advance

Re: Fico Score and Report Products

You probably know that mods are just ordinary people who happened to stumble upon this site just like everyone else. With that said, I'll throw out a shill for SW. I use a CMS (well CMSs) to monitor my daily goings on on my 3 reports, but I use SW for different reasons. As changes occur to EQ, I'll use the 30% discount via SW to pull a new EQ report. That'll save me $5 or $6 (or whatever it is) and get a new report that way. Everyone pays $20 per pop and SW users pay much less. I'm impatient. If util improves, I don't want to wait inside of 7-10 days to learn of my score change for a score alert. I want it now. With regards to alerts or as some say, lack of, I don't really care since I know what happened anyway due to these other CMSs. I do suspect some don't understand or have read the SW guide, but I know others have legit concerns. I've had it for 4 years now this month and AFAIK, I have received every credit alert I was owed (e.g. increased util, added TLs, added inquiries, etc.). I don't get the score alerts (every 7-10 days) but that is because if there's an event that results in an alert, I've already pulled a new EQ FICO which voids out that score alert (since I'm alerted to it at the pull). And sometimes I do get score alerts due to improved aging of new TLs, etc., and those are a welcome surprise.

Aside from SW, if you are looking for discounts on both, then Quarterly Monitoring for TU only works well. It's basically a prepaid plan for TU FICO reports and doesn't alert you to credit or score changes in between the quarterly pulls, but you do get 20% off all future TU and EQ FICO reports. That's a savings of $4 per pop or $8 if you pull both, so that $40 becomes $32. I use this for DW and the savings comes in handy.

Finally, if not wanting a service, just monitor a CMS and pull your reports freqently from somewhere, as changes occur, come back here and selectively pull your reports based on what you saw from the CMS. I've gone MONTHS without any change to my FICO score because nothing was happening no my reports.
