Is there a problem with score watch?

I ask because I received an alert yesterday that my score watch score has changed. So I figured that my CC and installment loan posted for the month and was not worried. So today I log in to check the change and my score went from 697 to get this ........a..797!! Smiley Surprised with the only thing changing was my installment loan is now 1 year old.

If this is correct I need to change my sig!

*drops jaw*

Have you pulled EQ from anywhere to see if there are any changes to your CR like dropped baddies (SW doesn't alert for dropped baddies or dropped balances).

Reset your target score to 797 immediately.

Re: Is there a problem with score watch?

The payment history went from Very good to Great. The score watch alert says....

Score Watch® alert January 16, 2012

View details of other recent alerts:
1/16/2012

Score Watch alert/Changes to your FICO® Score

Your FICO® score has gone up to 797 on January 16, 2012.

Your FICO® score has exceeded your target score of 698

And it says the alert was caused by this.

2 of your accounts reported balance increases.
My cc's never go over 10% and are at 8% util as of this report.

I changed my target score to 797.

I hope it stays.

Re: Is there a problem with score watch?

Looks like some sort of baddie dropped for the payment history to change. Remember, the score alerts don't give a big picture, only a general guess. I once got an alert for a 20 point gain via SW due to adding an inquiry. The inquiry didn't give me 20, but it was a dropped baddie that SW wouldn't alert me to that gave me the 20. Or in your case, the increased balances didn't increase your score.

And, yes, you can see a gain when an account hits an anniversary, especially at 1 year.

Re: Is there a problem with score watch?

What ever the reason for the 100 point gain I am happy as long as score watch is not broken. I looked at my power report and I dont see any major changes so it must be due to the one year anniversary of my installment loan. I checked my TU report and that is at 690 but the loan did not update on there as of today. Fingers crossed.

Re: Is there a problem with score watch?

That's amazing, my installment loan hit 1 yr 10 months ago and I did not get 1 point for that.

There has to be something major that has changed aside from an installment loan hitting one year and you payment going from Very good to Great, at least I would think.

Either way,

SUPER Congratulations!!!

Re: Is there a problem with score watch?

That is why I thought score watch was broken Smiley Wink  After futher review I found that there was a small 200.00 medical collection from 09 that was removed for unknown reasons, but only on equfax.

I'm going to give a week to make sure it sticks before I change my sig.

That indeed is a far better reason for such a drastic change to your score, 100 points for a 2 or 3 yr old CA being removed sounds a bit drastic, but I've seen stranger things.

Let me ask you this, on your current EQ report with the 797 score, do you have any derogs at all on your report?

The reason I ask is because, I do not believe someone with a derog can have a score of 797 (I could be completely wrong).

But if your EQ report with the 797 FICO is clean, I would say SW has given you your correct updated score.

And a Congratulations is in order.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!
