Losing Confidence in MyFico.com

I was really impressed with MyFico.com when I sigend up for the 3 score reporting and it has been very helpful in helping rebuild my credit.  I have become fanatical about watching my scores and doing what I can to improve them so I have also signed up directly with Experian and Equifax.  Here's the problem my Fico 8 score with Experian direct is 693 while MyFico's Fico 8 Score is at 681, my equifax direct score is at 681 and Myfco equifax is at 651 both say they are Fico 8 scores.  This isn't a timing thing because these scores have had weeks to update.  I have to believe that my scores directly with Equifax and Experian are accurate, so what's up with MyFico.  Any ideas any one has or light that can be shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Losing Confidence in MyFico.com

My experience seems to be somewhat different than yours. I have had myFico monitoring for a couple years and was pleasantly suprised when they went to the 3b reporting. As far as accuracy, i do have the EX monitoring service now (since they went to 08) and so far scores match exactly. I also have a couple of lenders (Barclay's and Discover) that give me TU scores monthly and they both match up too. I don't currently have a service to give me EQ 08 to compare against and as far as I know the EQ site has a Plus score system and not true 08 (I cannot confirm this though).

I'm sorry you are having trouble with your scores matching, but unless something else is at play here, myFico has always had the correct score. Only issue I ever have is the slight delay in alert, I have other services that are more real time then here. myFico does seem to lag in that regard. Good luck!

Re: Losing Confidence in MyFico.com

All my transunion scores match identically across Myfico and those provide by Barclays and Discover.  Equifax says they are providing 08 and I at first thought it was just a delay to but it's a month long delay now and that doesn't seem right. Don't know what else could be at play here.  I know the Credit Karma scores are Fako but what is interesting is when there is a big increase my scores at Credit Karma, there is also an increase at my Equifax and Experian direct scores but not at Myfico.  Just really odd.

Re: Losing Confidence in MyFico.com

Which product do you have from Equifax? Are you sure it is a Fico score?  Equifax complete as far as I know is not offering Fico score but their Fako.

Re: Losing Confidence in MyFico.com

Experian has recently begun offering a FICO score, but if you're getting scores elsewhere they could be different. MyFico is part of FICO, the fair isaac corporation, the company behind fico scores. You're getting a FICO score here, which is the scoring method used by most lenders.

Don't be disappointed in MyFico because the other places you get your scores from are either different versions of FICO scoring, or not FICO scores altogether.

Re: Losing Confidence in MyFico.com

Just updated today and now Transunion and Experian are both in sync.  Just need the equifax update which I have confirmed that it is Fico 8 that is on equifax direct.  It seems like just putting this post up fixed some things as shortly after I got a bunch of updates.

Re: Losing Confidence in MyFico.com

You can pay 19.95 for a Fico score from EQ.  None of my scores match.  It's just a giant mess.  All I can do is average them all out.  I do get free fico score from all my cc's but none of them match?

Depends on the date pulled.  My fico only updates after a weekly soft pull.  The CC's only update once a month.  When you buy a report and score, it is that day, and if you 0 out a balance, or add to a blance, your score changes.  Also, the free score provided for equifax by citi is a bankcard enhanced score (top score is 950), and will never match exactly.
