I'm writing this while I'm on hold with a rep from MyFico. I just pulled my EQ report and was surprised to find that an old inactive, closed and paid in full account has been flagged as having a delinquency as of 9/2009. This account has been inactive since 2003 and has no degros, etc. The account in question does not have any derogatory information listed when I opened an online dispute on the EQ website. It's reported as in good standing. This is the case with all of the CRAs.
MyFico is the only one that has flagged this account as a factor that's hurting my score. The rep said that they can't fix this which means that I'm paying for their service which is furnishing me with incorrect information.
Any thoughts on how I can correct this?

This account has an election of remedy descriptor that was placed on the account when I disputed inaccurate info on my CRs in 2005. EX and TR does not have the descriptor. Only EQ and I was told it wasn't coded as a derog until recently. I lost 30+ points. It turns out it's a EQ issue. Not MyFico. The CSR was very helpful. I didn't realize it was a negative annotation. I would have corrected it years ago.
Oh, yes. It was paid in full and closed in 2003. I didn't realize the Chase was still reporting an outstanding balance until I pulled my CRs in 2005. I disputed with Chase and they updated my account PIF and added the descriptor. I thought it was a standard note from EQ for resolved disputes.

I just received an alert. I gained 40 points while EQ investigates the election of remedy descriptiion. I won't hold my breath.
