No ScoreWatch Alert?

I'm doing a free trial of ScoreWatch. I knew that a negative account was about to drop off and was excited to see what kind of difference it made, but I haven't gotten a ScoreWatch alert. I know the neg came off my EQ report a couple of days ago, but haven't gotten any alert through MyFico. What gives?

Re: No ScoreWatch Alert?

You don't get alerts when derogatory information falls off your report.  But you should get an alert if your score increases AND you have set your alert threshold at a level that triggers an alert.  For example, if your score is 700 and you have set your alert threshold at 720, and your score goes up to 718, you might not get a SW alert.

Also, as derogatory accounts age, the effect that they have on your score tends to decrease.  So, it's disappearance from your credit report may not result in a tremendous score increase.  But it's still nice to have a clean(er) credit report!

Re: No ScoreWatch Alert?

The current score is 654 and I have an alert set for 655. Surely there would be at least a 1 point impact?

Re: No ScoreWatch Alert?

@Mank --

Next time you get a Scorewatch alert for a new score (or after you pull a Power Alert), immediately set the target score to your current score.

If you do that, you will get an alert after any change in your score (up or down).

Re: No ScoreWatch Alert?

So curiosity got the best of me and I bought a Score Power report today to see if the score really hadn't changed. In fact, it had - up to 656 from 654. Not a huge change, but since I had my alert set at 655, why didn't I get a ScoreWatch alert?

Re: No ScoreWatch Alert?

Hi Mank,

Good question.  However, since you canceled your Score Watch subscription earlier today we're unable to check your settings or any other information that could have pointed to why you weren't alerted to that score change.  One thing to be aware of if you ever subscribe to SW again, the score is monitored for changes on a weekly (7-10 days) basis, so perhaps you would have been alerted had you not canceled.  Can't say for sure, tho.

Re: No ScoreWatch Alert?

Scorewatch is too buggy....I knew my score went up due to a subscription with another CM service, and I never received an alert.  curious, I purchased my EQ and TU scores at this site and sure enough, they had gone up.  Therefore, I have cancelled my subscription and suggest others do the same.

Re: No ScoreWatch Alert?

I also subscribe to score watch and have been happy to get updates!

I havent gotten an update since aug 29.  i havent cancelled as far as i know !!  I subscribe to equifax, but not transunion.  i did BUY the transunion one time score a few days ago, and it is alot higher than i thought it would be!

Even if it hasnt changed, I thought I would get an update at least every 10 days...

im working hard...  and i think it should have changed--- dont wanna buy another since i already pay for this one!
