Not sure how this MyFico.com works...

What exactly did I subscribe to?  I'm lost as can be LOL.

I went to check my scores today and it says that I need to buy another TU and I have "one power score left" or something...I have to buy a new score every day?

Re: Not sure how this MyFico.com works...

Hey, I was lost too in the beginning. I remember subscribing to ScoreWatch, which monitors EQ, and immediately received my first report. I then had one more free report to use and I blew that on the second day. By the third day, I was disappointed to learn I'd have to buy more. Funny when I look back on it, but wasn't so funny at the time.

MyFICO.com offers a couple of ways to get your EQ or TU FICO reports. Sounds like you purchased ScoreWatch like I did in the beginning and that monitors EQ only, not TU. If you subscribe and pay for the year, you get one report at the time you subscribe. You then have the option to use the second "Score Power" report anytime within the next year. Upon renewal, two more free reports will be added and so on.

Unfortunately, the reports purchased are only good for that day. But there's steps you can take to get alerted everytime your EQ FICO changes. Without buying a new report.

Since you just got your EQ FICO report, I'd suggest using the monitoring service to your advantage. Go into your Settings and change your Target Score to match exactly to your current EQ FICO score. That way, if there's any change to your EQ FICO score you'll get alerted to it without having to buy a new report. It'll often give a general idea along with that score alert as to why your score changed. If you opt to ever buy a new report in the future for EQ, you get a $5 discount for being a ScoreWatch subscriber.

Re: Not sure how this MyFico.com works...

Thank you for the explanation. I purchased the 30-day "Scorewatch" trial. I noticed that I had to purchase #2 of 2 Scores in order to see my latest score. I wondered if the "full" version vs. the "trial" version provided a more timely update.  Does anyone know if that is true?

The same score that I initially purchased on 1/28 is still there (with the same date).

If you have to purchase *another* score to get an update, and you only get the two "score" things to begin with.... what is the point of "scorewatch?"  Am I missing something?

I understand your suggestion that I set the alert to the same level as my current score - instead of my target score, which they recommend.  Is this some way to trick the system into giving you updates?  ...and if you have to "trick" the system, I am back to my original point of what is the point of "scorewatch?"

Thanks

S

Scorewatch works like this: If there is a significant change (see the SW guide for criteria) on your EQ report, you will get an alert and an updated score - which may or may not have changed. The point of getting SW is to get these alerts and score changes when they occur. I've had 24 alerts/score updates since mid July. With SW comes two full reports and score explanation, one at beginning of subscription and one at any time during the year. After you have used the two reports, you must purchase new ones at a discount if you want another - but you will continue to get new alerts/score changes through the remainder of the year.

Actually you get it long after they occur.  You are not told when it was last updated or when it will be updated next.

Re: Not sure how this MyFico.com works...

Hi, good luck I have no idea what they are selling here either,  no email reply from support for 6th months, if you don't buy,

the whole kit to even try to understand the whole picture of suze,  your at a loss,  I called pbs and they can't even give me a phone number to a real person to walk me thru. The 800 number people there only sell the product and give you some clues, to fico scores what they might mean Suze sold out the business,  making sure her products sells under her name.  Sad I am a single mom in hopes to provide a better life for my children.  Not anywhere can I find a person responsible for her products.  But    I will believe me.

Hi wildflowers...Sorry to hear you're having such difficulty.  Have you tried myFICO customer service?  They should be able to answer any questions about the Suze Kit.  You can reach them at 800-319-4433.

Re: Not sure how this MyFico.com works...

I'm just as confused!

I had a collection account deleted from EQ a week ago, and I haven't received an alert or an update. I know that the removal itself will not trigger an alert, but wouldn't the score increase trigger that? My target score is set to my current score.

I'm missing something here.....Man Sad

Re: Not sure how this MyFico.com works...

Hi SwordandArmor....Good question!  First, be aware that the removal or correction of a negative item doesn't always result in a score increase.  Second, keep in mind that while credit report changes are monitored daily, score changes are monitored weekly.  So, since it's been a week, you still may get an alert in the next few days.

Also, have you seen your EQ report without that collection?  In case you haven't, we've added a free report to your Score Watch subscription so you can check.  But I would suggest only doing so after you've waited a few days, because if you pull the report now and there has been a score change, you won't receive a score change alert after having pulled a report.

Re: Not sure how this MyFico.com works...

Thanks for the response Barry.

Yes, I have seen my updated EQ file and just received the paper copy this past Saturday, so I KNOW that this collection account is gone. (It's also gone from EX and TU as well)

While I understand that not all removals will increase my score, my experience through my credit repair journey has been that when collections accounts are deleted, their is an increase. I've noticed that deleting old OC trade lines don't necessarily increase the score, or at least that's been my experience.
