Question for FICO Barry

Hi Barry,

Its me, your arch nemesis Pappy214 (from last months argument with you) ... I got news for you, despite your insisting I shouldn't have a FICO score because my tradelines are not 6 months old... I do have a FICO score... want to know how? Equifax is listing one of my Collection Accounts as a tradeline. You guys might want to fix that loophole, since they also listed it as a collection account under negative items. It shows closed/paid in both areas (because I paid it in full) but it has been listed on my EQ report since 2006 and is now my oldest account (and my score is not improving even though I now have no negative items and 4 positive TL's)

So, how does that factor in? Can I get EQ to remove this since it isn't technically a TL? What is your suggestion?

Also, if I order the Scorewatch and cancel within 30 days I am not charged right? What prevents people from ordering this every month and cancelling? They could use it for free forever... not that I would, I am actually an honest person.

Re: Question for FICO Barry

A collection account does not establish the 6 month rule.

Hi Pappy214.... Did you get that EFX report from myFICO? If so, I'll have it reviewed. If this collection is, in fact, being reported as a trade line, causing your report to meet the minimum scoring criteria, then it's a credit reporting issue and there's still probably not much Fair Isaac can do about it.

What you're describing is highly unusual, so I'm not going to even venture a guess on how it's being factored into the score at this point. And you'll have to ask EFX about disputing it -- that's their department.

Let me know if you got that report from myFICO. If you didn't, then I'd suggest ordering it from myFICO and letting me know, so I can have someone take a look.

As for SW, no, you will not be charged if you cancel within 30 days. If the myFICO ordering system sees that you recently subscribed to the free trial and canceled within 30 days, it won't make it available to your for a while.
