Received alert.....where is it?

I set up to be alerted by text and I got one yesterday. So I logged on to see what it was and.....nothing! No change, no alert even listed. What's that about? Do I have to do something to get the alert?

Re: Received alert.....where is it?

An alert from?

If it is from a product you signed up for on this site, such as ScoreWatch, I'd post over on the "Using myFICO products" forum. You'll likely get better help.

If it is from another service like TrueCredit, CreditKeeper, etc.....let us know and we'll try to help you.

Re: Received alert.....where is it?

OK, let me try to remember from back when I got alerts: Smiley Happy

(I'm assuming that this is a ScoreWatch alert)

- click on My Purchases
- look in the section under your displayed score(s) --you might have to slide down
- click on ScoreWatch, either the product name or "go"
- you'll see a display with 5 tabs at the top. I'm not sure if your most recent alert appears here, or if you have to click on "credit alerts".

If you click on credit alerts, there's a link at the top right for "view most recent alert". This will let you view all the details on the alert that you just got.

Be sure to click on "Settings" and change your target score to the one that you just got! This is very weird, but I've been told by customer service and by other members to do this, and it does work. (Unless they've changed something.) You can twiddle with other stuff on the settings page if you like. I set everything to the tightest setting possible.

I get lost on the ScoreWatch page a lot, but I do like the FICO Score history tab, which lists both alerts and your score pulls in reverse chronological order. HTH

Re: Received alert.....where is it?

Ok, I went to view alerts and it says my last alert was March 31st. And it states that one of my accounts has been updated. This update would be 6 lates that were removed from my Dillards acct. However, when I view the accounts it still has the lates on there and there is no change in my score. Shouldn't my report reflect the changes in the account or do I have to buy another score?  I thought it would change automatcally. What is really confusing is that I got a text last night saying that I have an alert.

Re: Received alert.....where is it?

Was it the last score power report that you pulled that you were looking at? The report showing on the Score Watch page is a report that you pulled on a previous date so the information on that report would only be valid for that date, know what I mean?

So if you got an alert saying that there has been an update, that update has been received by Equifax, but you need to pay for and pull a new credit report to see the updates.

OK, I think that it is something else that updated. (new balance, etc)

The info in the report section of your EQ FICO is what the score is based on. If the updates don't show on the accounts screen of the FICO report, then they didn't trigger the update.

Any balances change, credit limits, etc? If not, then SW has a whole new problem. Smiley Sad

Re: Received alert.....where is it?

Possible clarification - a Scorewatch alert does not update your scorepower credit report.  It just tells you that something has changed and usually what it is.

To see the report that reflects that change you need to get a new report

So I have to buy a new report to get an updated score? I thought the score changed with the updates. What am I paying for?

The update tells you the score has changed or that your CR has changed with no score change.  You are paying for alerts on changes to your CR.

If the change is something that should not be there (such as new credit card on your report that you did not apply for) then you know that you have a problem.  The alerts normally tell you what the changes are.

You also get two free scorepower reports with SW.

But yes - if you have used both your free reports, you have to pay for a new one.  But SW does tell you what you actual up to date (ish) score is, and alerts you to potentially fraudulent events.

Re: Received alert.....where is it?

Well, I ended up shelling out the $10 for a new score and got a whopping 2 points AND the lates are still listed on the Dillards account. I am writing a letter today to see if they will correct it. Both other reports are reporting accurately. I am depressed now. I hate wasting money!
