SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

I am so through with MY FICO. I do not believe the type of treatment that you get when calling customer service. I just call in regards to an issue I had last week with not receiving credit alerts. The customer service rep that I spoke with told me that she would credit me 10.95 for the credit report that I pulled and that she would cancel my subscription at this time and that I should re enroll within a half hour to try and resolve the issue of not receiving alerts. She assured me that I would not be charged again for the re-enrollment fee. Well I was not credited for the 10.95 and I was charged 7.95 for re-enrolling. Now when I call the representative placed me on hold for several minutes then came back multiple times to ask me what I would like him to do. I requested to speak to a supervisor because I have no patience when it comes to this sort of thing, and I do not like repeating myself 100 times. He then advised me that his supervisor was not available and there was nothing that he could do and that if I had a problem I needed to go to the website and submit a complaint. I was speechless! Wow. Then he says there is nothing he could do and hung up. Well I just want to say that I have referred several people and I am very disappointed in this service.

Re: SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

I think I will also cancel my service with MyFico.  I received a couple of alerts last week....but no change in score.  So, after reading some of the forums this morning, I went to the Equifax site and ordered their fico score and needless to say it is completely different (obviously updated) from the myfico site.  I do not think Myfico actually montitors a change in score...perhaps only once every few weeks?  Who knows.  I signed up with Myfico thinking their service was really good...but now I want to cancel.  I am wondering how to get out of the three month membership thing.

You are supposed to be able to just either call and cancel or go to the link under support to cancel.

Re: SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

I'm sorry you had problems. I felt the same way. Someone offered a suggestion I look at the settings for SW (can't speak for any other service like the quarterly monitoring; never used it). I found that the settings were set, when I first signed up, to a level that was not conducive to receiving alerts. For example, my score alert setting was set for the mid-500s (when I first signed up) and in fact my score had already risen well beyond that, therefore no alert, unless I dropped below the org. setting. I also had my balances on CCs set at a high percentage. So, I never received any alerts because I kept my CC balances low.

Try changing those and you'll see improved results. Set everything to a minimum.

I'm not saying there couldn't be improvements. Haven't heard of too many compliments about the customer service department. Never called myself, though. And settings and alerts should be tweaked. For example, and someone correct me if wrong, but you won't get an alert if a CA drops off, assuming score threshold doesn't catch it. There should also be an automatic feature that reports any change in your score on a weekly basis, like a failsafe of sorts. It will catch a change if one occurs. Lastly, there seems to be a delay in alerts due to changes. DW's seems OK, but mine have lagged up to 1-2 days.

Re: SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

Same here. Had a collection drop, not a mention or change in score or any alert. I had to purchase an Equifax report to get the scoop. I don't trust this service any longer.

Re: SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

I have had myfico for a year now.  I can tell you that I started with a score of 536 last year.  I'm now coming up on my 1 year anniversary of myfico and my score is 673!  I personally love the service.  To have that kind of increase in just one year is amazing, and I've saved a ton of money on those so called "credit repair" companies.

Myfico DOESNT monitor your credit report real-time, it will just trigger an alert whenever your credit card companies or anyone else reports information to them that you have asked to be alerted on.  So any inquiries, balance increases, etc.

The key to making the most out of myfico is to:

a) Read the forums - the one on understanding how your score is increased and the ones on repairing your credit are great.  So are the forums on what to do when you get a collection letter, etc.  I have been able to use that information and make sure that things get wiped from my report if I pay them, etc.

b) Dispute any incorrect/fraudulent information on your report.  Get all three reports and compare them.  Make sure to use their form letters to dispute information on your reports and to contact collection agencies to get that debt paid off.

c) Use Scorepower.  You can simulate different scenarios and come up with a plan on how to combat your credit issues and boost your score.

d) Set up alerts and log in frequently.  Seeing that score climb really motivates you to be responsible with your credit and makes you more aware of how your actions directly impact your score.

Hope this helps.  I really have found myfico to be my lifesaver and will definitely renew my service for the next year.

Re: SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

i have been a subscriber for several years, i have my SW settings so low if i sneeze it should trigger an alert!!
all of a suuden , for the past 2-3 months , SW is not the SW we used to know and love.............so all the "advise"on reading the boards and setting is really worthless. there is definately a glitch in the system. we all know it.
i have had balance increases beyond the $5.00 alert i set, inquiries and also tradelines added without an alert. the most recent is may 11, tradeline added....still no alert

Re: SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

I have to agree with Knoturavgchick, My finances are a mess and i didn't know were to begin to tackle the mess.  myFico really allows me to look at my scores and explains in detail = where i should begin the process of repairing my scores. The entire program is a valuable tool.  I can't wait to see my score go up!!!!!!!!

Re: SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

Scorewatch failed me big time.  I applied for a mortgage last week and I know they pulled my credit yet no Scorewatch update at all!  It simply does not work for me as advertised.

Re: SO DONE WITH MYFICO!!!!!!!

I cancelled my scorewatch two weeks ago because of the "glitch" that's been going on. I wasn't getting alerts even though my settings were set low as they could be set. I applied for a new CC and got no alert after 2 weeks, then I bought a Score Power and needless to say my score had changed. Smiley Sad
