Hi jommie...Not sure what your target score was set to prior to the 20 point increase or when your score increased, so I can't comment on whether or not you should have received an alert for that score change.  But I was able to find out that your last inquiry was 7/17 and you were sent an alert the following day, 7/18.  And, keep in mind that alerts aren't triggered for balance decreases

I had paid down considerable balances in the last two months and there should be at least one INQ.

My score went up 20 points when I just used the Score Power report - definitely something off here.

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

Hi Tons_of_Debt...Are you sure an account was added to your Equifax report since you first subscribed on 8/1?  You may want to pull your second Equifax report to see if that new account appears since that's what's going to have to happen before an alert is triggered.

I think I'm having the same problem. :-(  A new account was added and no SW alert. Thankfully I'm still in my 30 day trial. I'll wait it out to see if anything updates but from all the problems I've read about, that may not happen. :-(

Seems to be hit or miss with SW...

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

Hi peterkronenberg....Looks like you've been receiving multiple alerts each month for quite awhile.  And, if you turn your Target Score setting to "on" you may get even more.   Also, you'll only get an alert saying there have been no alert triggering changes if you go a full month without one.

Both my wife and I went for 6 weeks without an update. Customer Service seems clueless when I try to tell them I should at least get a message saying my score hasn't changed. They keep trying to explain the recent changes to SW (about not getting an alert for any score change), but I try to tell them that that change has nothing to do with this.

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

Hi molly73...Looks like you were sent 6 alerts just last month, so something in SW must be working.  To get the "there are no updates" e-mail you have to go a full month without any alerts.  And, as for DVing several items, are you expecting to have these items removed because none of them are yours?

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

hey barry -

thanks so much for getting back to me on this!
6 times......i saw that i had 6 credit alerts.....but did not receive that many e-mailed alerts.

yes....DV'ed several accounts that were not correct...& many of them are dropping off....received letters from the CA saying that they could not verify the accounts....so i thought that would cause some sort of change in my score...that is why i was concerned about not seeing any fico score activity...am i wrong?

Hi molly73....I don't know exactly what you mean by "emailed alerts" vs. credit alerts.  You should have received all of your credit alerts via email.

As for those CAs dropping off and your score not changing, there can be many reasons for this.  But the first thing to do is pull an updated Equifax report.  There's a free SW Equifax report waiting for you if you want to do this.  Then you can see what changes have actually taken place.  Good luck! Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

I received an email from scorewatch yesterday that said this. No Score Watch alerts this month. For the past month, myfico Score Watch has been monitoring your fico score and credit report for important changes. No important changes were found that caused an alert. Score Watch will continue monitoring and send an alert if an important change is detected. Well now I know it doesnt work because I pulled my scores myself a few times one on 7-22 and on 8-4 and ive had a 30 pt increase on EQ.. what is the deal??? They send these emails saying nothing changed, and quite a bit changed. The part that upsets me is I paid 89.95 for score watch to WATCH MY SCORE. If I have to pay every time to really find out, whats the point of score watch? I feel ripped off.. dont buy SW !
