hi barry -

i pulled my credit today & there is a 69 point difference in the report i pulled today from myfico.com and what SW is saying i have.

today i received an e-mail that i had a 6 point increase......but that was it.

any thoughts on how i can get this working......cause SW is supposed to report the fico score i pulled today from EQ right?

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

Barry, I didn't receive anything from June 20 through July 21. I called in on July 17 and they gave me a free report, but I hadn't gotten anything in all that time. My wife went from June 20 to August 1 with nothing. And I do keep my target set to the current score. I thought we were supposed to get an alert at least every 7 to 10 days, even if there is no change.

Hi peterkronenberg....Looks like you've been receiving multiple alerts each month for quite awhile.  And, if you turn your Target Score setting to "on" you may get even more.   Also, you'll only get an alert saying there have been no alert triggering changes if you go a full month without one.

They keep trying to explain the recent changes to SW (about not getting an alert for any score change), but I try to tell them that that change has nothing to do with this.

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

I had my target score set to my current score and no alerts for over two weeks. I moved it up one point, and the next day I had an alert that my score had gone up 5 points. No credit alerts though. I found it an odd coincidence and none of SW's possible changes applied.

Not necessarily.  This is because there can be 7-10 days before you're notified of the score change.  It also can depend on you resetting you Target Score.

Congrats on your 69 point increase!

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

I was suppose to receive an alert on Saturday 08/09/08 when BestBuy ran my credit.

The last time I received my alert was 07/30/08.

I waited until 08/11/08 and still no alert. So I pulled a power report to view the changes and noticed 2 changes which I was suppose to be alerted on.

It was 2 hours after I pulled my power report, that I got the alert. The date shown for the alert is deceiving. The alert date is 08/10/08 but I didn't received anything on that day.

I emailed customer service and they replied with a list of Alert Triggers, which I have already read in the SCORE WATCH GUIDE section.

CSR email did NOT resolve the issue, but provided information that just raised more questions:

1. When no Credit Alerts are triggered, the scores are monitored every 7-10 days for changes.
(I didn't get any alerts for 12 days, there was a credit inquiry and score change on the 10th day.)

2. If a new Equifax report is obtained by the subscriber and this new score represents a change from the previous score received via a Score Alert or Credit Alert, this new report is then considered the "Score Alert" for this score change and no other Score Alert will be sent for this particular change.
(if I had pulled my power report, why did I get an alert 2 hours later?)

Not too happy with MyFico CSR right now. She didn't address the issue and emailed me a lengthy email that looked like it was copied and pasted from the ScoreWatch Guide section.

That is just poor and lazy customer service!!! Smiley Sad

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

Its been since June 19th since my last update. I've expected a change in my FICO score with a result of lowering my utilization, although not a credit alert. I am going to need to use a Score Power tomorrow to see if there should have been a change because I am looking to do a CLI for one of my cards and only will do it if my score is a certain amount or higher.

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

Yes, you're right that you didn't receive anything for a full month.  I don't know why you didn't get an alert telling you that but I'll see if I can find out and get back to you.  As for your target score, there are 'on' and 'off' buttons next to that setting and the last time I had it checked yours was turned 'off'.  So, make sure it's turned on and then reset it to your last score.  Or, better yet, pull another report/score and then set your target. (There's another freebie there for you but don't tell anyone.) Smiley Wink

Re: Score Updates Every 7-10 days?

Since you saw that score with the last report you pulled I don't believe you're going to also receive an alert.  Only when you exceed your new score that you've set as your target will you get a score alert -- and that can be 7-10 days from when it changes again.
