I was suppose to receive an alert on Saturday 08/09/08 when BestBuy ran my credit.
The last time I received my alert was 07/30/08.
I waited until 08/11/08 and still no alert. So I pulled a power report to view the changes and noticed 2 changes which I was suppose to be alerted on.
It was 2 hours after I pulled my power report, that I got the alert. The date shown for the alert is deceiving. The alert date is 08/10/08 but I didn't received anything on that day.
I emailed customer service and they replied with a list of Alert Triggers, which I have already read in the SCORE WATCH GUIDE section.
CSR email did NOT resolve the issue, but provided information that just raised more questions:
1. When no Credit Alerts are triggered, the scores are monitored every 7-10 days for changes.
(I didn't get any alerts for 12 days, there was a credit inquiry and score change on the 10th day.)
2. If a new Equifax report is obtained by the subscriber and this new score represents a change from the previous score received via a Score Alert or Credit Alert, this new report is then considered the "Score Alert" for this score change and no other Score Alert will be sent for this particular change.
(if I had pulled my power report, why did I get an alert 2 hours later?)
Not too happy with MyFico CSR right now. She didn't address the issue and emailed me a lengthy email that looked like it was copied and pasted from the ScoreWatch Guide section.
That is just poor and lazy customer service!!!

Its been since June 19th since my last update. I've expected a change in my FICO score with a result of lowering my utilization, although not a credit alert. I am going to need to use a Score Power tomorrow to see if there should have been a change because I am looking to do a CLI for one of my cards and only will do it if my score is a certain amount or higher.

but barry - are we going to get updates when are score goes down too?
thanks!
As long as you keep udating your target score, you'll be alerted whether your score reaches/passes it going up or down -- regardless of the reason for the score change. And in addition to the target score alert, all credit alerts from certain changes to your report will include your score as of the date of that alert.

If there is any change in our FICO score, SW should show it as long as week keep changing our target goal. SW may not send an alert, but if there is a change due to utilization or a card aging, it should show the change in score as far as I know.
@Barry wrote:Hi Solarjuju...Sorry to hear your questions weren't addressed by customer service to your satisfaction. I can tell you that it's not unusual for an alert to be triggered one day after the change and for it to be sent the following day, since the alerts are generated at Equifax who sends them to myFICO who then sends them to you. There can be a couple of days between the change to the report and when you receive the alert. And I can only consider it coincidental that the alert came two hours after you pulled that report.
Thank you Barry for the reply.
I manage a staff of 10 telesales in my department selling computer chips. Our customers call us with questions because we are experts in what we sell, if we don't address individual issues, we could possibly lose a client. Of course, I am no big client here but regardless, a CSR's job is to provide customer service and if the CSR replied what you wrote, I wouldn't have overreacted.
I appreciate your to-the-point answer.

@Barry wrote:Yes, you're right that you didn't receive anything for a full month. I don't know why you didn't get an alert telling you that but I'll see if I can find out and get back to you. As for your target score, there are 'on' and 'off' buttons next to that setting and the last time I had it checked yours was turned 'off'. So, make sure it's turned on and then reset it to your last score. Or, better yet, pull another report/score and then set your target. (There's another freebie there for you but don't tell anyone.)
