You should get alerts for various kinds of changes.
Be sure to set your "target" score to your current score. (They really shouldn't call it a target score.) If you do this, you should receive an alert if your score moves away from your current score, whether upwards or downwards.
If you think of it as a genuine target, and you're current 650, for instance, and set a target of 680, you won't get alerts for score changes to 620 or 679, because neither "crossed" your target score.
