ScoreWatch?????

How often does ScoreWatch update reports.  Out of all my school loans, bank loans, etc...it is hard to believe I haven't had any changes since 3/15/09 or is this normal.

Re: ScoreWatch?????

Just my opinion here...I joined Scorewatch on 04/01 and was not alerted until 2 days AFTER I pulled a new report and found that my score dropped 65 points!! By the time I received the alert, I already started the process of handling this new issue. After reading many posts on here, I decided to order the Equifax Watch Gold 3 in 1 monitoring service for 12.95 a month. I have had others really praise that service. And you can pull a new Equifax credit report daily if you want to. You do not get a score on this but it does monitor all 3 CRA's for you and send alerts. I have heard from people on here that did a trial with Scorewatch and the Equifax 3 in 1 and they were alerted within 4 hours of changes to their report from Equifax direct. The problem is myFico is considered to be a 3rd party, so they have to wait unil Equifax reports and sends them the info...Just my two cents on this issue.

Score Watch monitors for credit report changes daily and for score changes every 7-10 days. Take a look at the Score Watch Guide at the top of this board to see exactly what kinds of credit report changes will trigger SW alerts. Also, we show that you were sent an alert on 4/9.

Re: ScoreWatch?????

I have made the settings identical to another user I know on here.  He gets notified everyday that his score is the same(or changed), but I barely get a single update to my score each month.  What is the difference? When he looks at his score history it has the updated score everyday. I am trying to monitor my score very closely right now, but I don't feel like myFico is living up to what it said it would do.

Re: ScoreWatch?????

change your settings to your current credit score.  It doesn't make sense to put your settings identical to someone else's, unless you have the same score.

Re: ScoreWatch?????

Please let me know if I have this correct.   I just changed my settings on scorewatch alert (target score) to the same score that I just received when I purchased a new fico standard - equifax score power report.   Does this mean that I can check daily to see what my credit score is, or does this mean that I will still have to purchase the scores.  I'm a little confused even after reading the instructions.

I am watching my score, but I don't want to purchase a report every time.

With your subscription to Scorewatch, you get only TWO (2) reports free of charge - one at the initial subscription, and one any time during the year. After that, you must purchase your report (at the discounted price of $10.95 I think).

Your Scorewatch subscription will send you ALERTS when there is a significant change in your report, such as new account, inquiry, increased balance on account, etc., and with that alert you will be given your NEW score - which may or may not have changed from your last score. But with these alerts, YOU DO NOT GET A NEW REPORT EACH ALERT - only the alert and score change... To see a new report, you must use up your free one, or purchase a new one. On occassion, you may have an issue with your SW and CS may give you an extra (bonus) report to check the problem.

If you want to see multiple reports - you can pull them on a daily basis, all three CRAs - look into creditchecktotal - you might be offered a good discount price for that service after the free trial...

Re: ScoreWatch?????

Thanks bigtim.....exactly what I needed to know.  Since I am not expecting any changes on the report and I am basically just watching my score right now, this is fine..  If something weird happens, then I may decide to buy another report.  Now, I need to try to find out how long my subscription lasts.  I can't remember if I signed up for monthly, or if I paid for a year, or what.  Is there a link for me to see when my subscription expires?

I know when my SW expires because of my "View Until" date for my reports, which happens to be 7/28/2010. Not sure if there is a link to find out if you pay monthly or have paid in full - you may have to contact CS. I get billed monthly - I signed up for 1 year, which I think automatically renews if you don't cancel...
