Re: ScoreWatch

I agree just pull all 3 FICOS quarterly and manage from there--I plan not to pull mines again tillMarch just pulled in December---too many times and it can get quite costly

Re: ScoreWatch

Funny thing is yesterday I was just about to say the score watch hasn't given me a single alert ever since I signed up a few weeks back.

Got an alert.. and score went up 16 points to 679. Smiley Happy

Just going to use tc to monitor reports and hope once in a while sw comes up with some alerts.

Re: ScoreWatch

I decided to give TrueCredit a try. It lists all 3 scores. It lists my TU=575, EX=562 and EQ=597. My ScoreWatch lists my EQ=643. What's the point in even trying to monitor reports when there is such a huge discrepancy???
Barclays US Air $17K| TTCU $15K| Citi Diamond $10.5K| Discover IT $9000| CapOne $2K| Best Buy $2K

I guess I don't understand why you would care what scores are showing on TC. They're complete garbage. My FICO TU just dropped 34 points, and TC didn't twitch! And you have a TC EQ FAKO that's almost 50 points lower than the real thing.

Great for reports, I use it all the time, and it has been invaluable for seeing when things get posted and changed. But I rarely look at the scores, and I especially don't look at the advice that you get on the scores. If you follow some of it, you can really do a number on your FICO scores.

Other than for satisfying curiosity (and I don't have much self-control in that dept, lol), none of us need to know at all times what our exact FICO's are. When we're getting ready to app for things, and need to know where we stand, then yes. When we've done some major clean-ups and we want to see the results, sure. Otherwise, keep an eye on your TC reports rather than scores, and know that if you're doing the right stuff on your credit, your real scores will reflect it when you do pull them. (And be sure to give it a couple of days after a big change to pull scores. The CRA's can be draggy in letting FICO know about these things.) Good luck!

Re: ScoreWatch

I was just reminded by a post over on General credit: before you cancel, be sure to save and print out all your reports first, because they will go away. (Just as my EX's and TU's go away after a month now.)

Re: ScoreWatch

I signed up for score watch on 12/14 and when the CCC's reported a week later my UTIL went up $1000 because of Christmas.  Anyway, my score stayed the same.  It has been a week since then and still no change in more score.  I have no complaints about the trial to date, but it's still early.

Re: ScoreWatch

ive been using this site for a few months now.. very happy with the results. if you set up your alerts right, it will notify you when balances go up, after you use your card. it helps in case you didnt use it.(fraud). the score watch is good .if your settings are for the 700 club, youll be notified when you get to that point. i would check out this site all the time for info such as this ..ive been educated about alot of stuff i never knew. keeping credit balances down will raise your score, i only wish i could get all three scores without having to pay everytime. eguifax is the only agency that alerts me and informs me of a score change via email. ive had my scores go up drastically with the methods i have learned from this site.. dont ever be late, pay down debt, dont open new credit cards, no big purchases on credit before applying for a house.. don't go buy a new car before applying for a home loan.. your fico will suffer from the added debt....my equifax score is at 739 as of this month, i have no idea what my scores are at the other two unless i purchase them.. last i checked trans was 712 and experian was 689... why the difference i dont know.. ill just keep doing what im doing.. it seems to work.. happy fico hunting..

Scorewatch is a scam. For the third time, I was suckered into buying one of their discount promotions. It will be the last. MyFico is the AIG of the credit world. I received the same score that I had bought 2 1/2 months ago. Please, no lectures. We all get how scoring works. No new significant increases in cc balances,no inq, no new credit, and three months worth of reductions on monthly balances on two loans. We always hear about how there are several factors regarding your score. However, if it is in your favor, MyFico all of a suddem is silent. Then you have to fight them  to update a score.I"ve had enough, I am going to report this scam to the authorities.

I think you would have better luck with a chargeback from your credit card company.

I'm not going to defend SW on most points. Certainly has its flaws and could use a good overhaul. But based on what you just mentioned, I don't see why your score would change at all, assuming your CC balances didn't go up and down by large margins during that period.
