Scorewatch no alerts

I haven't seen a Scorewatch alert since 4/19/09, even though I've had some changes. I had a PR drop off at the beginning of May and though I would see a score alert change after about 10 days but never got one. The latest change on EQ was an inquiry on 6/3/09. I was alerted by TrueCredit on 6/4/09 but Scorewatch still does not show any alert for that inquiry.

According to the Scorewatch sticky, it should alert in 2-3 days.

Also, do you not get an extra free score power report when you subscribe using a % off coupon. When I resubscribed I did not get a extra free score power credit for later use.

Score Alerts – these alerts notify the subscriber of Equifax FICO score changes in a couple of ways. (See table below.)

  • If a Credit Alert is triggered, the latest score is always shown on that alert.
  • When no Credit Alerts are triggered, the scores are monitored every 7-10 days for changes.

Credit Alerts – these alerts notify the subscriber about Equifax credit report changes. (See table below.)

  • Equifax reports are checked daily for Credit Alert changes to the credit report.
  • A Credit Alert should be received by the subscriber within 2-3 days following a change to the Equifax credit report.
  • All Credit Alerts include the subscriber’s latest Equifax FICO score.
  • All Credit Alerts stay turned on automatically and cannot be turned off.
  • The subscriber can control the frequency of Balance Increase and Account Dormancy alerts by the thresholds that are set.  For example, the lower the threshold setting, the more likely that an alert will be triggered

Re: Scorewatch no alerts

It seems to be busticated...again.

I got my credit check total "new account" alert on 6/5/09. I pulled the 3 reports there and the new account is in fact reporting for Equifax.

I think I may cancel scorewatch pretty soon; doesn't seem like it has been very dependable for the last 6 months.

Re: Scorewatch no alerts

Still no alerts yet today, online or email.

I did double check the description for the Scorewatch and it says you are supposed to get two Scorewatch reports, so I got cheated there . I had to cancel SW in April to take advantage of the coupon they were offering at the time as my renewal was coming up mid April. So I canceled the SW account then resubscribed April 2nd but only got the initial SW report on subscribing. It doesn't show that I have a free one available. Kind of negates the use of a coupon if they don't give you the extra free scorewatch report.

When it works like it's supposed to it's worth the annual fee, (although the yearly renewal really should be discounted instead of full price). Without the alerts and score updates it's more cost effective to just order the reports when you need them and not pay for SW.

Re: Scorewatch no alerts

I cancelled my subscription. I'll buy a score when I need/want it and use a different service monitoring. Score Watch was great when it worked and I may subscribe again in the future if the bugs get worked out.

Re: Scorewatch no alerts

Nine days later....... Still no alert from the EQ inquiry on 6/3/09......

First email response from MyFico support....

<snip> As far as the inquiry, since on TrueCredit.com they monitor all three bureaus, that inquiry might only appeared for Experian or TransUnion and not Equifax. Since Score Watch only monitors Equifax, then that may be the reason why you didn't receive an alert about that inquiry. Here is a overview on exactly how the alerts work.

Blah, blah, blah

<snip>

I did say it was an EQ inquiry.... Lets see if they escalate after my response to their response.
