Weird error when trying to purchase scores

I was trying to purchase all 3 scores but the transaction failed with an error message. I assumed it was a website error and tried again. But the 2nd time, on the first page, it showed my credit bureau availability. Experian and TransUnion were OK. But Equifax status said "Your product is locked".

I had previously purchased all 3 scores in July. So I have no idea whats going on here. I haven't specifically asked Equifax to lock my account. Is this a Myfico website error?

I didn't buy the other 2 scores, as if I buy, I want to see al 3 scores together.

Any help is hugely appreciated.

Re: Weird error when trying to purchase scores

Ok, an update.

I called MyFico support, the lady reset my Equifax and asked me to try again. I did so, got the same error, and then found that Equifax was again locked.

I called MyFico again, got a different person, who reset Equifax for me; but he said many others were also facing the same issue and it was due to technical difficulties. He advised me to directly try Equifax if I wanted Equifax.

So for anyone trying to get scores, for now DO NOT buy the 3-score product from MyFico. It most likely will not work.

I am assuming that the other 2 scores are alright, but since I wanted to get all 3 scores together, I will probably wait 2 days and try again from MyFico

Re: Weird error when trying to purchase scores

Hi, I'm experiencing the same thing right now. I thought I would take
advantage of the new discount code and ordered all 3. I got Exp.and TU
ok but it said Equifax was locked. I sent an email to Fico asking why and
waiting to hear back. Did you get your issue resolved?

Hi ohanck

We'll make it up to you by providing a new discount promo code when this gets resolved -- I promise!  Remind me if I forget, OK?Smiley Tongue

We're really sorry for this problem we're having obtaining the Equifax reports.

The myFICO tech team is working with Equifax on resolving this ASAP, and, as has been noted above, you can still probably get it from Equifax if you absolutely really need to. Smiley Mad

Thanks for trying!

It should be fixed for most EFX purchases as of 12/9.  Give it a try and let us know how it goes.  And if you're successful, PM me and I'll see that you get that HOLIDAY25 discount.  (This only goes for folks who had this problem.)

Keep fingers crossed while ordering.Smiley Wink

Re: Weird error when trying to purchase scores

I'm curious if this is just a myfico thing, or an Equifax thing?  I monitor my credit using PrivacyMatters, and a few weeks ago there was an "Initial Fraud Alert" placed onto my account.  I never requested one.

When I tried getting all 3 reports at the end of November, I got the same message with Equifax so I only bought the other two scores.  I assumed it was because of the false Fraud alert (i have contacted Equifax to get it removed).  But now, I guess the Fraud alert is a separate issue.

Interesting, SanFranMatt!  I can't speak for PrivacyMatters, and I don't have all the facts, but I believe at least part of the problem myFICO customers experienced was due to some changes Equifax recently made with their fraud codes.  So it sounds like your experience with PM and MF could very well be related.
