myFICO® Identity Theft Security Deluxe

I am not interested in the annual subscription to this service. I just want a month if possible however when I click on this product it says: Instant online access for 12 monthly payments of $4.95

Does that mean that I have to pay on a monthly basis for a whole year or can I just do it for one month and just cancel before the next billing cycle?

Hi Glitche,
There's no annual minimum for the  MITSD monthly payment option subscription, so, yes, you can just order it for one month if you'd like.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info. I really do suggest that they change the wording for MITSD. It is misleading.

Re: myFICO® Identity Theft Security Deluxe

I would like to know though if the alerts show up online immediately (but just don't get emailed until quarterly). That seems a little vague also.

As posted on their website. ( I heard that alerts were quarterly)

"Stop worrying
and let your alerts keep you posted.
ID theft alerts keep you informed about what's going on with your credit and your identity at all times. If we discover any changes or new information, like a different name, phone number or address, we post it here. Then, we immediately send you an ID theft alert E-mail that directs you to this page, so you can check the new activity for ID theft."

This does get confusing, I know....

The "immediate" alerts mentioned above refer to alerts from a number of non-credit bureau databases also monitored by MITSD.  These are various marketing databases mostly containing name, addresses, and phone numbers from magazine/catalog/book club-type mail list databases.

This information itself is not all that valuable but changes you may be alerted to here could provide an early warning of fraud -- at which time you could then order a credit report to check for any unauthorized inquiries, etc.
