myFICO is a scam and a fraud

1. They offer a 10 day free trial. Supposed to be free if you cancel in 10 days otherwise they charge you for 3 months.

2. They do not send you anything when you open a free trial. I checked the email client's spam folder and the server's spam trap as I run my own server. There was never any attempt in the SMTP log at sending an email from an @myFico.com address.

3. When you try to cancel using an on-line form, it will not submit without an order number which you never got.

4. When you call their number the IVR (interactive voice response) system leaves you on hold indefinitely if you are calling from an undesirable phone number.

5. When they bill you in 10 days, you can then get through but they refuse to reverse the charge.

6. Call your credit card and make sure you tell them that you have been a victim of FRAUD, that this is not by chance. They have had many such reports about these scam artists already. The bank will reverse the charges and charge them a penalty.

And, if you want to fix your credit, this is the worst service imaginable. Use the products from the three credit reporting agencies - Equifax, Trans Union and Experian. For a free once-per-year credit report from the government, check out the instructions at http://www.fdic.gov/consumers/consumer/ccc/reporting.html.

Re: myFICO is a scam and a fraud

That's odd,

When I signed up for the 10 day free SW Trial, I called 1-800-319-4433, (on the 9th day) listened to to options and pressed 4 on my phone, waited a very short time and a myFico rep answered, I told her I would like to cancel my SW free trial, it took her at most 3 minutes to do so, and I was never billed.

I received an Email right after I signed up for the free trail (and it clearly stated to cancel on or before the 10th day or I would automatically be enrolled in the SW program (3 month minimum) and would be billed 14.95 a month a month, I also received an Email right after I cancelled SW free trail, Thanking me for trying out their service.

I ended up signing back up for the SW subscription almost 9 months ago, and I've been very happy with the SW service ever since. IME, the customer service at myFico has been extremely professional and the CSR's at myFico are polite and knowledgeable.

BTW, SW is not a tool to help you fix your credit, it's a tool to help you monitor activity on your EQ report and score.

For you to come in here and rant that myFico is a scam/fraud is unacceptable, you should have taken the time to call the number listed above and you would have had 0 problems canceling your SW free trial.

Also MyFico (Fair Isaac Corporation) is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating.

You do the math.

Re: myFICO is a scam and a fraud

Way back in the day, I started with the free trial as well and that is, as it is now I thin, the only option. Well, I guess you can start by paying annually. Anyway they were very clear that you need to cancel by the 10th day. I suspect that there are some free loaders out there who try just for the free report. Others feel the product isn't right for them and cancel for that reason. But there are plenty of folks who posted on here saying they were able to cancel inside the 10 days without issue. I cancelled services for my in-laws outside of the 10 days, a few months after subscribing, and never had any issues with that for them.

Out of curiosity, what makes your phone number "undesirable"?

Your link isn't working, and is to the FDIC which handles banking matters as opposed to credit. I think you might be referring to www.annualcreditreport.com. We definitely encourage everyone to take advantage of that every year for free copies of each CR. In the realm of rebuilding, those reports are absolutely essential and mandatory because they contain info you cannot find on FICO report, or through any other credit monitoring service as far as that goes.

ScoreWatch works as advertised, for me. It gives alerts a day or two after cards update changes in utilization or a new account comes on-line.

Re: myFICO is a scam and a fraud

Facts are:

1. No emails from MyFICO.com. Not even to establish identity.

2. Form would not submit without an order number

3. I called several times and the first time I got through was after the expiration of the trial period.

4. I spoke with a manager who refused to reverse the charge.

5. I spoke with the bank who did reverse the charge.

And I hope that many potential subscribers find this thread and realize that this thing ain't clean and that the anonymity of the Forum does not guarantee that all these advocates who jump in to tear down complaints aren't themselves employees or even all one person who's job it is to argue down legitimate complaints.

I can't address the last two since mods are just regular Joes (and Janes) who stumbled on here at one point in time. We don't have access to your reports, purchases, etc. But I'll toss out some info on the first 3.

1- Per e-mails, maybe something was mis-typed or mis-cued? I've (or we if DW and her family is included) always received an e-mail notifying me after ordering any product on here. We get the alerts. We get the order confirmations. They also won't verify over e-mail your ID. It's done at the point of sale based on your input. I personally would feel a tad uncomfortable if they e-mailed it.

@Also, not every e-mail will come from @Anonymous.com. I've received alerts and order notifications from "@mailca.custhelp.com".

2- You don't need to input an order number to cancel. I took the chance to go forward with a cancellation and was able to back out just for the screen shot below. As you can see, the order# field is optional.

3- As I threw out before, my cancellation experience over the phone is limited, but there are plenty who had no issues and only had to wait if they called in off-hours or Sundays (I think they are closed then).

ETA...and no, we are not paid hacks. We are not paid either. I don't have a rubber tree plant overlooking some city skyline. No Learjet parked in the back. No limo tours. And I'm not posting as the previous posters. And I didn't post as you to create interest in this thread. Joking aside, you feel you have a legitimate beef towards myFICO. That's OK. That's one reason why I like to reply to these posts so that your concerns can be addressed. If I felt I was wronged, I'd want the same vs. being ignored.

Good job,  llecs.

You always seem to come up with an answer to some of the more difficult questions.

I hope this opinion won't be taken the wrong way: ScoreWatch may be better suited to those with relatively stable credit.
