an email from melissa at scorewatch basically confirms this.

Hi

I was trying to set up the score watch text message alert option.

Re: scorewatch and verizon wireless

Sorry to hear you're having trouble receiving your wireless alerts through Verizon. I've confirmed with customer service that the wireless alerting system works for most Verizon users. For some reason it's not working for you. Sometimes this happens when a former non-Verizon carrier becomes a Verizon carrier, but certain functions don't transfer along with the switch.

Did customer service give you the workaround to forward any email from scorewatch@myfico.com to your cellphone? If not, and for anyone interested, I'm told it goes something like this (though I confess I haven't tried it myself):

  1. Login to gmail. In the upper right corner, click on Settings
  2. Click on the Filters tab
  3. Create rule (they call it a filter) and save

Re: scorewatch and verizon wireless

Sorry to be so late back with you on this. This is puzzling to me, because I have VZW, and I can promise you that I get SW alerts. Up to 731, down to 727, up to 731, down to 727, over and over. (My EQ is in kind of a rut these days.)

Do you have a smart phone or something? That's the only thing that I can think of off the top of my head --that it's your equipment, maybe. I have a "reasonably bright" phone (LG enV Touch) --not a smart phone, but lots of fun little toys. I'm getting alerts on this one, and I got alerts on the previous plain Jane VZW Samsung.

Re: scorewatch and verizon wireless

Hi barry and hauling,

the reps were real rude-both on phone and email. one actually talked to me about a competitors product.

no smart phone..just your standard cell phone. I was able to fix the problem on my own..if your interested, I'd be more than happy to detail it for you. I know I'm not alone.

Thanks

Rod

happy customer once again

Re: scorewatch and verizon wireless

If you post it here, future members with the same problem will be able to pull it up by doing a search, so you're most welcome.

As long as it's all legal, of course! Smiley Very Happy

Re: scorewatch and verizon wireless

Hi

Yes its legal :-)

When I discovered the problem, I contacted verizon and they did not find any "blocks" on my account relating to txt messages. I'm on a nationwide txt plan and have no problems receiving or sending txts, except for the fico txt's.

I went searching on my own and found a new "spam" filter on my verizon account page. Disabling this filter allows the txt messages to work. To disable the filter:

log into your verizon account

click on the "my services" tab

click on "verizon safeguards"

click on "spam controls"

click on the "internet spam blocking" tab

towards the bottom of the page you will see a section titled "message blocking preferences"

uncheck both boxes

save and log off
