I was under the impression that the CRA's rarely shared information. I was a member of Experian's Credit Expert and everytime I would initate a dispute, I get an alert on Score Watch a week or so later that says the item is currently being disputed. Still happens this way. I just recently had a deletion of a CO account from 06. Should I expect it to delete from the reports as well? I did dispute the item on all 3 CR's but could a deletion from EX speed up the process for TU and EQ?

Just got my Experian results back on this account and its deleted! I disputed it with all 3 CRA's so hopefully each one will come back delete. Only one baddie left, the infamous Capital One of course.

I personally wouldn't even respond to this letter. Nothing they can do to you at this point for an account dated 16 years ago. If they do eventually put it on your CR, just dispute it and it should be easily deleted. -The Chairman

I have a Cap 1 account like this as well. It's a charge off but doesn't show under the "CO" heading on my CR, instead its under "Negative Accounts", is this grounds for a dispute? -The Chairman

I disputed a CA reporting on my CR. This is what Experian is showing: Pending Items CREDIT PROTECTION ASSOCIATION Account Number: XXXXXX Outcome: Pending Date: March 22, 2010 I am curious about the date, which as you can see says March 22,2010. Does this mean they have until then to verify and if not, it gets deleted off my report? It's been about 3 weeks since I submitted the dispute. Any info will help. -The Chairman

One more payment of $177 to HC Credit and I will be free of these people! I will have to say this is probably the worst credit decision I have ever made. I bought something and didn't get all the facts from the store, my fault. But never again. 27% APR applied monthly then payment goes to interest then principal!!! Thank God for the Credit Act to help others caught in a situation like I was. Maybe it will run some of these jokers out of business! -The Chairman

I have a current capital one collection account on my CR. The funny thing is that none of the CRA's are listing it as a CO. I have 1 30 day late, 2 60 day late, 1 90 day late, 1 120 day late, and 1 150 day late and then they eventually charged it off. I paid it over three years ago. Sent a GW letter to have them completely remove the account. No response yet. Just asking, just in case my GW gets no answer, should I try to get the entire account removed or just tackle the lates one by one next time? Thanks. -The Chairman

My highest limit is from Discover at this point at 2k :) Maybe in 3-5 years I can have the problems you two have of combining 10k+ CL cards hehehehe. Just goes to show you the power of excellent credit. -The Chairman

Usually the quickest way to raise your credit score is to lower your credit utl. I would pay off the CC, even though they're 0 interest simply because even though your not paying interest, the balance is still hurting your overall credit util. -The Chairman

Hey All! Finally got the Discover More card in the mail and activated it. This is my first "prime" card and I'm SOOOO excited. I love all the features and benefits it comes with for free!! Finally someone is trying to sell me on using their money for FREE (no AF) and not me paying for using someone else's (Crap 1). Hopefully after this and my new Chase Freedom (hasn't come in the mail yet) age for a year a two I can apply for another card and dump Crap 1! Lastly, can I expect a score increase when the discover and chase cards get added to my credit report?

I applied for a Crap 1 card about two weeks ago. I was decline and called the backdoor number to find out. CSR stated that a old paid charge off was the reason I was denied. I told her I was approved for a Capital One CC at the end of 2008, which I still have and has never had any lates or deregos. She couldn't give me an answer and told me that I would be getting the letter stating why in the mail and no hard inquiry on my report. Anyone else had this happen?

What other baddies do you have on your report besides the PFD which is coming off and the repo. There has to be some other reason, i.e. more charge off's or a BK as to why your score is still so low. You should start by posting a "complete" credit picture.

I figured it was "safe" to call them. They are paid charge off's nothing else they can really do to me. They've already gotten paid. I did ask the rep at Credit Protection if there's anything I could do to get it taken off and she said "just dispute it with the CRA". Not sure what to make of that. I did drop six gw letters in the mail today. 3 for crap one and 3 for Credit Protection. All going to different addresses I have found on this forum that posters have had luck with. Hopefully something good comes out of all of this! *Crosses Fingers*

I currently have two paid charge off accounts remaining on my credit report. I'm sure if I can get even one of them off I will be well into 700 territory as far as my scores go. Here they are: Paid Charge off since 2007 with Capital One. Called them, wouldn't budge. Paid Charge off since 2007 with Credit Protection Associates. OC is Charter with was bought out by Allegiance in my area. Also called Credit Protection and gave the same story as Crap 1, a big fat NO! I guess the only thing left to do is GW them to death, anyone else have any other suggestions I might try?

Is there any information on how long the creditors will have to respond? Is it shorter or longer than the 30 days that the CRA's have. I see alot of ppl getting many things off of their reports now. E-Oscar system is a joke, it will verify anything.
