haha, I think I would rather start with a $5k CSP! I had a fairly high balance on one of my cards from getting married and I think it spooked them. Like you said though, at least I got in
Plus, the CSP is way nicer and better feel. Already got my first compliement at La Jolla restaurant.

I'm one of those people that doesn't care what a credit card looks like... they all spend the same.
I've gotten tons of compliments on my car... but never once have had a grocery store clerk tell me she liked the look of my Sallie Mae card.

It will be a while before I get to find that out... Chase's branded cards (Freedom, CSP) are now auto denial if you have more than 5 new accounts in 2 years.
I have a few I opened in 2013... 4 in 2014... and 2 so far in 2015.
Not a huge deal either way... with every complaint thread I read here about Chase and their policies... lack of CLI's... etc... etc... I'm not all that excited about applying with them.
Don't need a $500 Freedom. I would have taken it 6 months ago when I requested exactly that after a application denial... but the rep cited my 6 year old BK 13 and denied the $500 Freedom request too.
Really.
Wow, i guess i got a nice rep then

Sounds like it... not that I'm jealous or anything because I'm far from it. I have a solid profile given my upper 600's scores and when my Ch 13 falls off in a few months I'll be well into the 700's... opening the door for even more prime lenders not named Chase.
Not losing sleep over Chase and their unfriendliness at all.
Their 5 account policy is new... so keep that in mind before your next app spree.
