I was in the army national guard for a few years and used the GI bill and tuition assistance. When I got discharged early I guess I owe money from not finishing my term and using those benefits. I included this overpayment debt in my Chapter 7, which was discharged in January 2015. It was included on the list of discharged debts. I know that student loans cannot be discharged, but the benefits I used while in the military were not a loan. Does the DoD still have the right to collect this debt? I plan to go back to my attorney and sort it out but just want to know if anyone has any experience with something like this.
