Re: Amex " High Value Cardmember"

High Value Cardmember is an actual indicator/tag for a Cardmember based on several factors during regular internal account reviews. Representatives, however, should not be telling you that you have this tag in your account and should not be treating you any differently than a non-HVCM.

hi,

you said always get enhanced. for csp and prestige

maybe you meant to type some of them can be enhanced? and therefore some csp and prestige holders can be transfered to another rep?

because there are divisions within divisions.

also notice i said you're correct except where i bolded, so i wasn't saying anything that i didn't think you already knew.......

You said I was almost right but I am entirely right so was just confused. You expanded upon my comments to explain additional paths, and that's fine but I never stated I was offering a definitive list of ways to determine your value. Some cards are automatically sent to a premium CS team regardless of your other metrics. Some review product and spend, others go further to factor the entirety of your relationship. All of these things are internal, so cardholders usually don't know or care to know.

If it is based on spending, then the people that MS would be extremely, high value customers.

I'm sure they have ways of gating off those accounts but the MS folks don't really care about it lol

CSRs can call me whatever the heck they want, as long as they solve my problem.

As far as "premium customer service," I'd hardly call the citi prestige line premium. They're about as useful as a sack of potatoes.

It's based on experiences but they do consider the Prestige and Executive lines as premium service. I find them average, CSP provides better and faster service.

HVCM is only one, I know of a few more but as you point out, it is internal and of no use to cardmembers.

There are lots of tags Smiley Wink - all internal "FYI" purposes though.

Hey, this site does not promote violence!  Smiley Wink  (I'll leave out my Andrew Jackson and Henry Ford quotes, although Americans would be wise to learn what they said about our banking system).

Just yesterday, however, I was wondering if it would make sense for wealthy banks to have one employee monitor boards like this and others to stay on top of what was going on.  I mean, if I had unlimited wealth, I'd find that a VERY worthwhile expenditure.

On a different note, for this place, it is my goal to become a high value board member!

Other boards, like where Flyer(s) talk are monitored by banks and travel companies. Airlines, hotel programs, and banks have reps on the boards. Not so much here.

You may be right, but it wouldn't serve me well to assume there's no monitoring at all.  I mean it's not that I'm overly concerned, it's just that I've never really thought about it(and I dont imagine I'm the only one who hasn't) and I guess it now caught my interest for whatever reason(probably at least partially due to reading about all sorts of things having disappeared before I even learned about them, ha).  Anyhow, I suppose I may feel more relaxed speaking in a more pleasing way about bankers, now that I've thought about this.  Bankers are people too, after all!  (I guess churners are people too, too.  I'm not sure whom to direct my chagrin toward, over the loss of some products that could have been very pragmatic, and not overly dramatic, in my useage).  Now that I've managed to likely offend everyone, I will end this post.  Smiley Happy

EDIT: I couldn't help myself:   Ding ding ding.... ladies and gentlefolk, joining you live from Las Vegas, we will bring you tonight's main event.  Standing in the left corner, we have the defending champion of greed... predatorrrryyy lenders!  In the right corner, we have the #1 contender, predatory(manufactured) spennnnders!  There will be no set number of rounds in this fight for the title belt of "high value" greed.  I'd say lets have a clean fight, but I'd know it would be a waste of breath.  Thunderdome, sit back and enjoy!

(Now if I only knew how the embed a gif of Thunderdome or Thunderstruck like Baller just did for Walk Like an Egyptian)    Smiley Happy  (edit 2:This will have to do)

Why would they give you a revolver when you are spending that much when they are guranteed to get paid back every month in full vs. floating a balance on a revolver... Sad, but if you think about it, it kinda makes sense from their perspective... Not saying this is the only reason not being granted the blue
