* Capital One EO No longer doing Manual Review CLIs !!

Well, as promised, I have not done any new apping / HPs since my BofA debacle last month -- so, I decided to try for a SP CLI manually with Cap1 since I have a year old card that I run TONS through and PIF monthly, sometimes twice, and have a 6 month old card with a much higher limit.  Called EO with my PIN #, spoke to TWO reps who stated "That as of last week, our policy has been updated and we are no longer accepting requests for Manual CLIs - Capital One has made this decison and it may or may not change in the future, but as of just last week this policy has been updated"....

Looks like either the EO truly was being "abused" for these matters, OR more trivial matters, OR someone is blowing smoke Smiley Very Happy Smiley Very Happy I definitely had the EO and spoke to 2 different people, and they both put me on hold to confirm with managment so it seems legit.  She also made it sound like the UWs were the ones who decided this, or at least aided in the decision, as they are already a "very busy department" ... my question is, what do they do all day if they arent taking manual CLI reqeusts lol ?? Cap1 approved or denies almost always via their computer !  So it seemed odd, but okay !

So FYI -- anyone looking to go the CLI route via EO, may no longer be an option -- she said the only way possible now is via online or automated system channel.

If others have other outcomes, feel free to post.  As for me, in the Garden I stay Smiley Very Happy

Could be blowing smoke but I could see this being true, I get the reason for having an EO especially with the quality of the drones they have reading a scrpit on the front lines. But I have seen many threads where people have contacted the EO with the most trivial and unrealistic demands. I'm reading about people who have six months of history demanding huge CLI's and PC's to elite status cards with scores of 630 and getting angry with the EO when they fail to please them, while reading this I'm thinking how long before this kills the golden goose.

Re: * Capital One EO No longer doing Manual Review CLIs !!

I hear ya although calling for a CLI is tempting because the online system is soooo hit or miss. So I can get people calling for that after repeated denials.

However I agree many others utilize it for BS purposes. The other issue is, as you said, Capital one has some of the dumbest CSRs ever known so it doesn't help either -- even their SR CSR ARE hit or miss at best.

I guess time will tell.

Oh for sure, I get what you are saying and it makes total sense, it's just there is a time and place for this and that's why I say the EO does exist for a a reason, but like anything, once it gets abused it's never the same.

I understand your point. And honestly, it wouldn't shock me if one day Synchrony pulls the plug on Credit Solutions. I hope that day doesn't come, but if it does I honestly wouldn't be shocked.

It's a shame. I twice used their E.O. department, and found it to be extremely professional. I was treated so respectfully, and they really paid attention. I felt that if my request was granted, or if it was denied... either way... I would be satisfied that I was treated fairly and professionally.

I've actually been waiting for this one myself.  At a minimum I suspect at some point they will require you to have a referral from the regular CSR (or chat) before they talk to you, instead of being able to call them first like so many people on here tend to do.

Note that I'm not saying I wish for this or that it would be a 'good' thing... I'm just saying that it wouldn't surprise me.
