HERE IT COMES ... CHASE Froze my RITZ!!! Under Review !

LOL at this point, I dont even care ... I have all the credit I need and then some, and quite frankly I'm sick of this credit game nonsense.  It was easier having bad credit because I just never thought about it nor cared -- this is a joke.  Account frozen yesterday after doing a cash advance at a hotel casino while traveling for pleasure ... $500.  Forgot y debit card upstairs and figured I'd save the time .. my CL is $5k, nowhere near the limit now.  BAL is $1050, just paid $1500 off.

The Lending Team is reveiwing me, and could take 72 hrs.  LOL when they see my 6 new SYNCH Accts and INQs Im banking on a closure.  Again, couldnt care less.  Over it  Just warning those who do cash advances, or use the card in excess to be careful -- CHASE WILL freeze you !  Lending was very nice, but i am definitely expecting a closure or massive CLD.  Ill report back either way -- should know by tonite or tomorrow.  I find it absurd that lenders punish you for services THEY OFFER YOU, but it is what it is.

My EXP is 708, about 25 pts higher than when they approved me.  Theyll see that, but all the new accts too.  No baddies.  TONS of INQs.  This is not a security hold, but rather a LENDING REVIEW -- was told fraud hold earlier, not the case.

I will report back -- CHASE strikes again !!  Soooo many threads on similar issues !

Re: HERE IT COMES ... CHASE Froze my RITZ!!! Under Review !

With a bunch of new accounts plus a cash advance at a hotel casino I could see it setting off flags for sure.  Very sorry for the inconvenience but I am fairly certain this same patter with other lenders might result in a similar outcome.

I don't see anything unreasonable here on Chase's part (although you will not agree and I get that).

You know what, I get what you're saying -- but I'm just over it. "Here, you are allowed $1,000 in CASH ADVANCES, but if you use it, we will review you and possibly close you down."  Or... "Here's a card with a $5,000 limit, but if you use too much of it, we will close you down"  or ... "Here's a card, but if you open 3 or more, we will close you down"  Get a life.  With a 708, high income, I clearly am not a massive risk.

I do get your point, but DEFINITELY DO NOT AGREE.  some lenders are WAY over protective, and others seem to not care.  Why give a consumer a loan of sorts, only to withdraw it later based on new accounts?  Or penalize them for utilzing a service YOU MADE AVAILBABLE ?  I find it to be nonsense.

And by "get a life" I meant "get a life, LENDERS" - not you :-)

Re: 0 in

I limit cash advances to my CU cards at Casinos - no x-fer fee, no red flags, no higher APR's - then again I pay them off as soon as I get home. Never had an issue using a CU Visa for cash at a Casino, during or after. I'd never use a standard CC for a cash advance at a casino, not because of a possible AA, but because of the fees and penality APR that starts at once.

Just saying.....

Re: 0 in

yea CUs are awesome -- i have 2, and USAA kind of is like a CU... they are great with these things and USAA does not charge a fee at all

I agree with you more than you may believe.  I feel if any lender says you can get up to $1,000 in a cash advance then it should be ok.  Unfortunately my first reply to you was based on history and stories I have read here, and I hope you are not another chapter in that book.

After reading so many of those stories here I will always do everything I can do avoid a cash advance, just way too many horror stories to feel safe doing that.

Re: HERE IT COMES ... CHASE Froze my RITZ!!! Under Review !

Chase is extremely touchy about casinos in general, my sister tried using her Sapphire at a casino for general purpose and not cash advance and both times the card was frozen. There is always something specific that bugs certain lenders, for example with Amex it's paypal, Chase it's casinos.

Re: 0 in

Thank you kindly.  I appreicate the words.... I would love not to be the next chapter, but Im banking on being so...

I will DEFINITELY update -- it all truly depends on the mood of the rep who reviews my account.  I did however preemptively email my contact in EO (Manager) requesting more info, and immediate action -- she has been GREAT in past.  My card has been frozen 36 hours now.  I may have mistyped that earlier

Re: HERE IT COMES ... CHASE Froze my RITZ!!! Under Review !

I think it's less about Chase and more about the general situation. Most lenders don't like to see cash advances, especially at casinos. So I think the action isn't surprising. Hopefully this gets resolved in your favor, but definitely stick to cash or debit for gambling!
