Il lbe coming out the garden in a few months. One of my main goals is to get a CC with +$5k CL. Im thinking Chase Freedom may be my best shot. Ive read several post on here that your chances of getting this kind of CL increases, when your CR shows you already have cards with this kind of limit. I have store cards with limits of $5700 & $4K. Will these cards be viewed as me having limits near $5k, or because they are store cards, are they not viewed the same as having actual credit cards with $5k CL.
too be honest some banks yes. some banks no.
chase being one of them that does not factor in store cards...
when i applied for my chase freedom i had a 2k card and a 2.5k card both stores that ive had for 2 years and they only gave me a 500 limit.
right after it popped up on my report that i had a 5k walmart store card, i was offered a bank card that was 5k
my freedom got a cli to 1k and i plan for asking for a cli sometime in the future.
edit.s. id work on getting your util down too under 10% that will bump your score by a few points if you have more then 15k in credit. (possibly into the high 600's low 700's)

Dang, I was afraid Chase wouldn't factor in my store cards. I have had a banking relationship with Chase, since they bought WAMU . I have a mortgage with them as well. I hope that will count for something. Ive got 2 cards with 0% for 48 months promos, so my util will probably be in the 20% - 25% when I app. My plan is to get all my accounts, but those 2, down to $0.
