I know it's early but what card/s do you think you will apply for in 2012? I am in garden mode but thinking about: (not definite)
1. Target RedCard (I go there a lot of the 5% discount looks good)
2. Lowes (still doing rennovations in my house and the 5% discount is attractive)
3. A CITI card (to add to my Prime portfolio; not sure which one makes sense)
4. A PSECU CC. I have a collection falling off my report in 2012.
5. Penfed Promise
I would only get one of the above. But with my other cards, I will try CLI's only with those who SP only. I know Barclays, Wally World and AMEX do SP's for CLI's
I also have Discover, Chase, USAA AMEX but they HP for CLI's as far as I know.
So what say you?
amex BCP
American Express...not sure which one yet, but it will be one of the cards that does not have a NPSL; but I won't apply for it until probably May or June.
There's a Chase Freedom in my future once I bring down the balance on my Discover card. Depending on the CL, I might actually close out my AMEX BCE (since the CB %'s don't really match up with what my purchase patterns are).
Amex BCE after June 2012
I'm going to try for Citi Forward and AmEx BCP in May! In the garden for now!
Not really sure ... I don't think I need more cards. CLIs.. Sure!
Edit: Oh.. Sapphire Preferred. XD
I plan to go on a CU app spree at the end of 2012, mid December or so:
1. Alliant CU Plat Rewards
2. PenFed CU - Promise
3. PSECU - 20/20 combo
4. FTWCCU - (local CU)
5. Chase Freedom
That is my hit list. I'm also going to try for a Amex BCE in early Jan 2013. If everything goes to the plan I laid out for 2012, but the end of the year my utilization would be around 9% and more FICO scores would look alot better.
Amex BCP once my Utilization is down.
Sadly, that's it. There really isn't another card I want and that one isn't even necessary. I already have an Amex Delta (AU) and USAA Amex, but had a Gold card back in the day and would like to strengthen my average age with a little backdating.
The last negative comment falls off my report in September. Maybe I'll wait until then or even Jan 2013 before applying. I need something credit card-wise to look forward to besides CLIs, LOL!
1. Amex BCP
2. Chase
3. Target last (since they seem to be the hardest to get. LMTO)
