I recently pulled my Experian, Equifax, & TransUnion credit report today 8/22/2010, and there are 3 collection accounts on my report:
SST/CIGPF1C (This account is scheduled to continue on record until May 2012)
MIDLAND CRED (This account is scheduled to continue on record until Mar 2013)
MIDLAND CRED (This account is scheduled to continue on record until Apr 2013)
I have tried to dispute all of these accounts several times through online & USPS First Class mail, and all came back as verified. I've tried to PFD with Midland, but they're suprisingly ignorant about deleting their own report. Since the SOL in Texas is 4 yrs, all of the accounts above have reached their expiration. I will be graduating with my Pharm.D in May 2013. Should I not worry about these accounts, and just let it falls off naturally? My goal is to have a perfect (no negative marks) report by May 2013...or earlier the better
Below are the accounts listed on my TransUnion report:
SOL is different from CRTP. SOL is the legal amount of time they have to sue you to try & get their money. It has nothing to do with the CRTP, which is the legal time period that the account can be reported on your credit.
By disputing the accounts, you might be actually dropping your score, because if the accounts haven't been updated in a long time, having them verified makes them look much more recent. It's kind of confusing, but that's how I understand it.
If you have the money, you could offer a Pay For Delete (PFD), where you pay in full & get a written agreement that they will delete the account from your reports.
Disputing the account, and then it came back verified doesn't seem to affect the score at all. I'm current subscribing to all 3 credit bureaus with unlimited reports & scores per month. My score either stays the same or goes up a point after a dispute came back as verified.
Since the Midland accounts are about to fall off my report in March-April 2013 (approximately 2 years & 8 months), it's wouldn't be wise to pay in full for delete. I'm look for an alternative to have Midland remove its tradeline from my report with some type of dispute.

unless you are getting your scores here, there is a very good chance the scores you are watching are not accurate. you can buy the TU score at transunionCS.com, & i've heard you can still get the EQ score at equifax.com but they try to bait-and-switch you with their own score.
as long as the information is accurate, disputing is not going to get the account off. i sure wish it was that easy, though!

If you're getting your scores straight from the credit bureaus only one of them possibly can be a fico score and that's EQ. You have to check to see if Fico tm. is somewhere on the paper or wherever method you are getting the score from. Don't even bother with the exp or the Tu those are most likely vantage scores... if you are correct in the fact they are straight from the bureaus. I don't know i'm just taking your word for it.
The equifax lenders use is '04 which you can get here... TU lenders use '04 but your stuck with '98 here. Exp ... forget about it ... just clean up your reports as best you can and hope for the best. Going thru the mortgage process to find out that puppy is way too expensive. Oh wait I have to correct myself if you have a CU that pulls exp for credit checks say for a cc application than u waste a hard inquiry if you apply in person they may tell you the score.
I am curious to know whether that EQ is fico or fako given what you said... updated info on unpaid derogatory such as co/ca dings ur score ... maybe you can confirm if that actually is a EQ FICO.

The current FICO EQ version sold at this site is the EQ Beacon 5.0.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800
TU - 8/10-772
You can do the same thing with hard work

That's the '04 version no? It's the same most lenders are using as opposed to the TU. That's all i'm saying. I wasn't saying that was the specific name just the year that those models came out.

I'm not sure when Beacon 5.0 was first implemented. I'll try and find out.
I found out that Beacon 5.0 was first used in 2003.
Cool ... so the Eq version most of the lenders are using is ala 2003.
MV do you know of the major scoring quirks that differentiate the scoring between TU 04 and 98?? I can't seem to find this info anywhere.
