Building process

How long does it take to build a house and go to closing?  If they start building in May do you think it will be completed by August or September?  Thanks

Re: Building process

We are just starting the process.  Was approved for our loan and it will take about three weeks to close with our credit union.

Our builder gave us a written guarantee that our house would be done by six months.  He did say verbally, though not binding, that it would be closer to 5 months.  Weather will have a lot to do with it.

I think an August move in is pretty slim, but that is just my opinion.

Re: Building process

Last week a builder told me he could have a home built for me by mid June...this is a new subdivision though...not an independent contractor...I also have a house built before and they started in August...and was finish the first week in Nov....

Re: Building process

The rate mine is going, it can happen, if they are ready to start.  Getting permits, etc can be very time consuming....usually developments won't have a problem because they have had standardized plans already approved, but  custom, depending on where you are, could take a while.
