Received dunning notice dated may 25, 2012. Sent DV on June 18 certified mail and checked with post office and it was received.
Have now received letter from them dated July 13 (I am out of the country till October and have someone forwarding mail to me every 3 weeks, that's why I just received this today). It is a "Notice of Intent" staing that "all pertinent information will be referred to national credit bureaus in 7 days where it may remain for up to 7 years". It goes on to say that "your failure to act responsibly has resulted in this course of collection activity"
Am I correct that this is an illegal collection activity on their part? What course of action is best to pursue from my end at this stage? I've refreshed my USAA credit monitoring reports and nothing is showing as reported yet fyi.

I know we have some guys here who are very familiar with the FDCPA or FCRA. Hopefully one of them will be able to chime in on this.
Without seeing the full letter, I'd say it's suspect. Reporting would be a no-no.
Thanks llecs, I'll see if I can scan and post the letter later and the one I sent originally to them also.
