Attempting to remove the last few things I have negatively affecting my score. This one is an old one, showing as paid/closed (as a collection). I'm not entirely sure if I paid this originally or not, so not sure whether I should start with DV/PFD, or skip straight to GW letters to get it removed.

I had a paid, closed account through the same collection agency. I wrote a GW letter and they removed it very quickly. It was removed before I received a letter from them.
I'll give that a shot. Did you email or regular mail the letter?
I used the address listed on the credit report.
There is no longer a debt, and thus nothing to pay in exchange for deletion, and no debt to validate or to impose a cease collection bar.
The process is to request their good-will deletion.
Update. I sent an email to their general email address and received a response that they are removing from all 3 bureaus!
Thanks all for the help. I'm now down to 1 medical collection and 1 collection I'm refusing to pay that will drop off next year. Not worried about SOL as its beyond it (gotta love Texas' 4 year SOL)

Yeah unfortunately it's paid, and I've been unable to make sense of the post-paid process, so I've just been attempting some GW letters

That IS the "post-paid process"....
