FICO Score Discrepancy

Hello,

I have a CreditSecure® from American Express service that monitors my credit score and I just noticed that my Equifax report is currently at 720. However, when I pulled my Equifax report on myFICO.com, it is showing 685.

Which report is correct? Is there a definitive place to get the correct score?

Any advice is appreciated.

The EQ report from here and the TU score from here are REAL FICO scores

Starting Score: TU:650 - EQ: 672
Current Score: TU: 706 - EQ: 680 - EX: 699
Goal Score: 700

Re: FICO Score Discrepancy

Thanks, but I'm a little puzzled. Is it not true that services like myFIO and CreditSecure get the same data from EQ or TU?

Yes, the data is the same when pulled from EQ or TU.   But the scores are completely different.     You can't compare FICO scores with FAKO scores, they follow completely different scoring rules.    CreditSecure is a FAKO score.

Take a look at the credit scoring 101 thread in this link:   http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/Frequently-Requested-Threads/td-p/19320

myFICO is the consumer division of FICO. Since its introduction 20 years ago, the FICO® Score has become a global standard for measuring credit risk in the banking, mortgage, credit card, auto and retail industries. 90 of the top 100 largest U.S. financial institutions use the FICO Score to make consumer credit decisions.
