My transunion is sitting at 655. Pulled my new report today. Says I have a 30 day late 1 month ago. Filter my accounts by "negative" nothing shows up. Look through every single account one by one. Not a single one have a late payment.
I then enter beta-view and look at negative accounts there. A closed autoloan shows up. But the details so no late payments.
My question is, why does the report say "30 late" but the details don't match? Also who do I need to contact? is this a MyFico error, or a transunion error? And how do I contact them to fix it?
I'd guess 99% that it's a TU problem because there have been some posts about it (not regarding MyFico, just reason codes) but I'd have to see a sanitized screen shot to know more.
This issue has been ongoing for a decade, I think:
If you've been denied anything based on TU recently (CLI request?) you can get your paper report online at Transunion just to double check.
Pulled my transunion report. The account shows a late there. Also shows that the account hasn't updated since december, even though the creditor has twice told me they would fix errors. Interesting that TU to myFico shows correct updated information, but TU by itself does not.
If they've admitted the error, CMRRR your proper threats to them with immediacy. They are required to correct errors in a timely fashion and if it's taking a long time, that's not timely.
Sadly the law doesn't define "timely".
I'm starting to think this is a transunion thing, not a creditor thing. Looking back at reports, TU is a month behind the other two bureaus with this creditor. And last month the other two were reporting incorrectly before being fixed. For the moment, I will assume that when TU updates for January, it will correct itself. If I don't get an update by Feb 1st, I will pursue things further.
