Auto Loan Inquiry Raised Credit Score. Why/How?

I know I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth but, when I applied to Capital One for Auto Loan financing, my credit score went up 3 points based on the Alert I received from MyFICO.  I was hovering around 650, and this bumped me over.  I have since had several other inquiries in a rate shopping spree, and no affect up or down (I believe I understand that all inquiries within 30 days count as one correct?).  Anyway, wanted to know if anyone else had this experience, or had an explanation.  Sometimes the alerts, and changes to scores seems like black magic to me.  Just happy this went in my favor.  Thanks in advance for taking the time to read/respond.

Coincidence.

Your inquiry coincided with an AAoA bump or something else unseen by you. An inquiry for vehicle shopping is counted the same way as an inquiry for any other form of credit.
